The coating is not goodKaoriThe supposed non-stick coating was not good. Right after we purchased it, food kept sticking to the surface and was difficult to remove, leaving burn marks behind. The affordable price attracted us, but the quality was so poor that we ended up recycling it and wasting our money.1
This is a horrible panTamiWe have used other ikea pans in the past and loved them but this one is horrible.. I bought a few in different sizes and had to throw them out in less than 4 months.. heats up too quickly and food burns and sticks to it. I would not be purchasing this pan again.1
Waste of moneySouadThis pan is definitely NOT nonstick. Food sticks to it and burns easily. It takes serious scrubbing to get it clean and even after all the effort, some burning marks have become embedded and won't come off1

The pan heats up too quickly and burns food almost immediately, even when I use low to medium heat. This makes it very difficult to cook properly. I have used it carefully and followed normal cooking instructions, but the issue continues.1

What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?

Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties. Sol-gel can be produced in different colours, it withstands high heat, is easy to use and clean – and allows cooking with little or no fat.
