The storage boxes are easy to roll out and in thanks to the castors on the base.

MALM bed storage boxes work perfectly with MALM bed frame. They fit neatly into the space under the bed and will be flush against sides.

This versatile bed frame will look great with your choice of textiles and bedroom furniture.

Adjustable bed sides allow you to use mattresses of different thicknesses.

LURÖY slatted bed base with curved slats helps to absorb your body weight and supports your body, while the open construction allows air to circulate and keeps the mattress fresh.

Very light weight but moves a lotAmritpalThis IKEA bed is lightweight, but it moves too much and feels unstable2

Worst bed frame I’ve ever ownedAnonymous reviewerJust like the title says, I have not had a good sleep since purchasing this bed frame because it constantly squeaks and makes awful clicking noises with even just the slightest movement. Not to mention that calling IKEA’s customer support line was as useless as tech support telling you to turn the device off and back on again, but with tightening the screws (if I tighten those screws anymore, they will break the bed, even more). Needless to say, I will never be purchasing from IKEA again.1
Not sturdyMarziehAfter 1 year it’s just been so noisy and every little movement at night comes with a loud noise that just doesn’t let you sleep2
Poor quality hardware - you'll have trouble to assemblyAnonymousYesterday assembled for my daughter: I haven't worked with this poor hardware. Those who designed must try themselves: it is impossible to make the bed sturdy: a) all hardware must be put manually - the screws don't have heads for screwdriver to be used with hand drill (i know about over-torqueing, but setting drill to min torque works well). A tiny wrench is hard to use and got bent and damaged half-way through. b) main tightening round parts are weird and don't hold. I spent >30 minutes to put them together and had hard time to tighten (and in the end they are not even holding that well!) using 1/2 wrench. A tiny allen key from the kit would not even work! The frame is not holding tight in corners as a result. The metal bar helps a bit (the only well-made part), but only in 1 direction. c) the headboard is sitting on small screws and dowels. This is not enough: it is wobbly. d) lamelles are hard to use. They'd be better made as 1 part, not 2. TL;DR You won't assembly by yourself2
Very poor quality and not a sturdy bedSachinI’m very much disappointed with the quality of bed. I have bought two beds (one queen and one double bed) both of them are poor in quality as their ply is ripping apart and also base is not sturdy. Very much disappointed with the quality and never recommend this to others. I wish there should be way to upload pics. Since this is assembled and I doubt if I de assemble it then it won’t assemble again. I learnt that IKEA doesn’t provide warranty on bed. That’s really bad.1
Terrible design ArielleThe wood panels keep on falling off and it’s not a sturdy bed1
Sturdy buildLaniLove how it looks like and that the drawers are stand alone and you can have several options where to place them. Only downside are the corners. I now have scars from bumping into those rigid corners. Hope they'll sell ones with corner support or maybe make them rounded instead of sharp corners4
The Slats won't workAmalaThe Slats were not fitting. Tried all the options available but did not fit.1
Bed Broke so easilyJulieI had this bed for maybe 2 years if that and I had to replace the middle metal support beam the not even a couple weeks later the whole thing broke off the wood headboard. 2
The worst thing I have ever buyOscarThis bed it’s the worst article I have ever buy in my life; the aluminum bars, 2 of them, deformed after 1 day and they are now scraped, the bars in wood are too short for the bed and after any movement they shut down and the bed too. In general, this bed doesn’t works well and everyday you have to fix it, that’s really a bad product 1
Solid bedRobinLove this bed. The storage drawers are large and roll smoothly, the frame is solid and durable. Not sure if you should refresh the slats but we are a few years in with this bed and considering getting a new set of slats as my hubby is finding his side not as comfortable these days. I think we will try that first, as it may be a cheaper option than buying a new mattress at the moment. Would love to try one of Ikea's mattresses though. Any suggestions?5
Best bedJimmyThe price is reasonable 5
Fell through the bed after 6 monthsRavenBe aware of the reviews below that indicate the frame does not last long - easily spent $500-$600 thinking we were investing in a mid range bed frame only to have the whole thing fall apart after 6 months. We fell to the floor one night and the wood beams underneath the mattress completely broke in half. Save your money! What a waste!1
Worth the priceAzeeraVery strong and the installation is easy and we are very happy with the result😄❤️it looks handy and cool 👌🏻 5

Accessories for MALM

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
