The new ceramic non stick coating isn't workingDavidI have been using this wok for quite a long time and it was quite decent with the old non stick coating works for approximately 1 year in my case. With that pricing. I have no complaints. However Ikea recently changed the coating to ceramic like one and I have bought 2 woks and a medium frying pan altogether and all suffering the same issue where it starts to lose the nonstick characteristic within a month and completely lost it within half a year. The performance is extremely bad when dealing with starch rich ingredients like rice, noodles, pasta etc. Highly not recommending this product unless they have the coating problem resolved.1
I received a defective product.JihyeI received a defective product. It's a coated wok, but the coating has peeled off. When I tried to return it, it said I had to pay for the return shipping. I paid for the product, but now I'm receiving a defective item. Do I have to pay for the return shipping? (I live far away, so I can't visit.) The customer service center is constantly connected to a chatbot, and it only asks for irrelevant questions. Is there no customer service email? I'm wondering if I'm just going to throw away my $35.1

A sticky wok, not recommendKam LungThe side part is super sticky. It becomes black and sticky in first use. Unable to clear and it will stay here forever. Never use it as a normal wok. It would be usesable if you only want to boil water. 1

What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?

Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties. Sol-gel can be produced in different colours, it withstands high heat, is easy to use and clean – and allows cooking with little or no fat.
