The bed is great but…TeresaThe bed was a great buy for my spare room. My grand daughters love it. I also bought for one of my granddaughters’ room as there is also a lot of storage. Unfortunately 2 of the slats have broken in half. I went to my local IKEA store and they weren’t able to help me. How do I go about ordering extra slats for the bed?

Great space saver, but mattress choice is trickyNasserSuper practical for a guest room or home office. The drawers hold a ton of linens, and pulling it out into a double bed is seamless. The catch is finding the right mattresses. Because of the two beds, transitioning it from a single bed to a double can be a bit clumsy. The pull-out slatted frame tends to catch slightly if you don't pull it from the exact center with both hands. Still highly recommend it!

Spare parts replacementLeaI bought the hemnes daybed with 2 asvang medium firm mattress 5 years ago. Was use by me first, then with my husband, then with our 2 children. We stored it away when we needed a much bigger bed. Now, 5 years later, we needed the bed again for our eldest but missing some big parts. Went to Ikea, showed the pictures of the bed and where the missing part are. The customer service was very helpful and able to assist me to order the parts online with no additional cost. Parts came quickly, bed was installed. Slats and everything including the mattresses are still in excellent condition. Very durable & happy with the purchase until now. 😃

Worst experience everLuciaI bought this bed and one of the drawers had one of the pieces wrong done. It has been an absolute nightmare to have IKEA sent the correct piece. They acknowledged there has been several cases like mine, but they don't fix the problem and instead, tells you to pay for a carpenter to fix the problem. It costs $150 to have it fix.
Perfect Daybed with tons of storageRajanya ReddyWe purchased this bed for my teenage son's room and this is great. It's been used for more than 7 - 8 months now and it stood up well. We used it as a guest bed too (multiple times) by expanding it and to my surprise, we needed kings sheets which still seemed bigger and family of 3 (with a young child) were comfortable. The storage is amazing. I was able to easily store a pillow and the bed's spare sheets sets - all in 1 drawer without stuffing. I still have2 drawers empty. My only concern - there is a bit of saw dust in the drawers and I know this is falling from the slats. Since this bed does not require a mattress box, I wish it had flat base instead of the slats. Overall, a wonderful product.
Broken just after 6 monthsAjinkyaBarely 6 months into using it its broken. One of the slats just broke. Horrible product. I expect a repair from IKEA. How can a bed be reliable if it breaks after 6 months, and we don't even use it everyday.

Mattresses don't match!NicoleI will preface this review with the comment that the day bed frame seems great, and everything else is okay so far. However, the daybed set came with 2x VANNAREID Twin ( 97 × 189 × 12 cm) mattresses. The two mattresses are the same model but have different weights labelled on the packaging, and different spec tags. One mattress came labelled as 16.0 kg, and the other came as 17.77 kg. The actual difference when weighed was 2.9 kg. The lighter mattress doesn't seem like it fills the shell. It is obviously a substandard product. If you ever get this day bed or the VANNAREID Twin mattress, make sure you check the mattress weight if it seems flimsy!

DaybedAliceBed was simple enough to put together, I worry about the center area when pulled out as it isn’t very well supported. I am highly disappointed in the mattresses however as they are incredibly thin and uncomfortable. We now need to purchase an additional mattress to be able to sleep comfortably.
