Product details

The sturdy solid pine frame has natural variations in grain, color and texture, giving every piece a unique look. And it has been stained and lacquered making it more durable and easy to care for.

You can sit up comfortably in bed thanks to the high headboard – just prop some pillows behind your back and you will have a comfortable place to read or watch TV.

Beautiful craftsmanship all the way around. Why not place it in the middle of the room to create impact?

There’s plenty of space under the bed for storage boxes – great for stowing extra duvets and sheets.

The high footboard keeps bed textiles from falling onto the floor while you sleep.

Adjustable bed sides allow you to use mattresses of different thicknesses.

Beautiful BedCathyWe decided on this bed after checking online but when we got to the store and had a look at it in person I almost changed my mind. It did not look good at all in store (for a few reasons having to do with the display setup and height of mattress) ..but we decided to give it a try anyway since it matched my other hemnes pieces. My husband took about three hours to assemble and once done we were so happy with how great it looks in our bedroom...just love it! It's beautiful and very solid.5

Please adjust qualityMathildeI love the Hemnes style and the IKEA brand. Unfortunately, I think the manufacturer has a problem because the holes don’t align for about 1/2 of the built. It is an absolute nightmare to pu together. Apart from that, I would STRONGLY suggest to add legs other than the four corners’ ones. For the king bed, the structure is not strong enough with only the metal beam in the middle.3
Squeaky and UnsturdyRachaelI've had the Hemnes frame for four, almost five years now. Pros: - Nice colour (I have the black-brown one, it looks very sharp) - Nice design - Very light (good for shoving it around if needed, or for carrying parts during a move) - Easy to dismantle into smaller, easy-to-move parts Cons: - Nightmarish to put together the first time. - VERY squeaky. - Centre beam is held by two weak brackets -- one on the headboard and one on the footboard. Two years after buying my bed, one of the brackets broke, and the centre beam warped and snapped. I had to hammer the bracket back into shape and buy a replacement beam. - The little spindly bits of metal that are supposed to keep the bed square do not, in fact, keep it square, because they are too weak and spindly. - The wood is really, REALLY soft, and incredibly susceptible to dents/scratches. Overall: Light, looks very nice, but in my opinion it's not worth the price. Spend a little more and get something quiet and sturdy.2

Squeaking noise and wobbly RimaGot this bed frame awhile ago and it is so noisey and unstable, had manufacturer defects as well but had to live with because I'd already put it all together before I noticed asa the cracks in the wood. Will avoid buying important furniture from Ikea, better to stick with side tables or something with a very basic function.1

Fasteners are cheapTroyAssembling the headboard to the side legs was frustrating, the screw-in pins that are supposed to be clamped with those twist clamps didn't line up properly and I broke all but one of the twist clamps trying to get it together tight. I ended up buying some 3-1/2" brown flooring screws and had to use those to hold the legs to the headboard. The quality of this bed frame was far less than the other Hemnes bedroom suite items I've bought.2

Great BedKellyThe Bed is totally worth the money, the only downfall is that there was a deep scratch on the headboard. If I didn’t live an hour away I would have brought it back for an exchange.4
Very good DoreenI would have REALLY liked to know that the black colour was being discontinued within the month. When I went back to purchase the drawers a month later (once I saw that it would fit) I was informed that it was discontinued and there were none left for sale! The same with the second bedside table. The bed is fabulous and very sturdy.5
