Small footprint with potentialNarjisIt's an awesome bed, I have a small room and this bed fit in perfectly. The option to extend it and make it into a king/queen bed with 2 twin mattress is amazing. The bed also has 2 drawers at the bottom which is another great feature.
Worst IKEA purchase I’ve made.TaraAs a dedicated IKEA customer I will safely designate this is the worst item I have ever bought from Ikea. The assembly was awful, with many of the small plastic pieces required for assembly being brittle and easily broken, and the pieces for the bed are just difficult to fit together properly… and yes, I am a seasoned IKEA furniture assembler and usually love this stuff. This bed was stubborn and difficult with poor quality pieces. It is sitting “assembled” with pieces missing because they broke.
If returning it wasn’t so difficult I would have done so.
I’d avoid making this purchase again 100%.
Issue with Slats: read before buyingOliviaI was able to put this together by myself in about 3ish hours, only mixed up once with the screws in the frame, easy fix.
PROS: real wood, modular, simple
Now the cons i will go into detail:
1. The slat choice. For some reason they use these tiny plastic bits to click the slats in, issue is if you put pressure on one side it pops out- you are better off drilling in the slats so this doesn't happen. Also I had a hand full come broken in half, and only one spare.
2. The drawers. I love the big sliding drawers, however the issue is under the bed frame there is no guide for the drawers so they kinda end up moving around and could end up being pushed all the way out of reach (they are large, but sadly not the width of a twin. Easy fix is adding a handle on to it but I would have preferred if one side of the drawer was longer or enough to fit a finger to pull out.
3. The wood is super soft so its easy to chip and get marks, and a lot of the wood given is with knots (prone to cracks)
Multiple slats brokenSamI have had 3 slats break. I was able to replace 2 but now customer service is saying since they don’t have any spare parts in my area (they won’t ship interprovincially…) I am out of luck. Obviously if you are missing slats it is worthless as a bed frame. Disappointing and buyer beware.
An amazing bed! And so handy!KatherineThis bed is so beautiful! I absolutely love the unfinished pine and the clean lines. The storage is fantastic and the ability to make the drawers into tables (or use the top as a bed table) has been so handy. I love how it converts into a king (or you could put a queen mattress on the bed). The only thing that I wish it had were sides and a back to make it into a true daybed… so I hacked it and made it even better!

I have a foldable king mattress that fits (almost) perfect on the frame, when fully opened. Whenever needed, I can collapse the bed, fold the mattress and gain a lot more space in the room!
There's around 2 inches of mattress that stays out of the frame, at the end of the bed, but that doesn't bother me at all.
