Doesn't scroll via MatterBrianThis is a creative design, but outside of the IKEA app when used in Homekit, the scroll function doesn't work. The scroll wheel appears as individual buttons, which just isn't practical.
The wheel itself also has no texture or indentations and is difficult to actually rotate without clicking.
Just get the regular Bilresa remote, it does what it's supposed to.
I suspect this works well inside the IKEA app, but it doesn't function outside of it.
DelightfulAndrewThis is a wonderful and affordable alternative to the tyranny of using an app to control your smart bulbs. It was easy to pair the Bilresa to my four Kajplats bulbs across three groups, even without a Wi-Fi base station. It's very impressive how much you can control with this minimalist, two-button controller—although this does mean that using it is somewhat unintuitive; house guests can't usually figure it out on their own. I'm very satisfied, and I'm glad that I wasn't dissuaded by the negative reviews. I only wish that I could use the scroll wheel to control the light temperature on a continuous spectrum (rather than double or triple-clicking to cycle between preset hues of white).
In theory it's great, in practice it's not. It needs some slight modifications to work well.JeffIt looks beautifully designed, sleek and minimal. It lacks real-world design elements that could make it a great product. I don't have enough force feedback to know if the wheel is rotating, or I'm just mashing the button, or it's just slipping due to my dry skin. The wheel needs a slight elevation and an indent, so it can actually be used as a dial. I modified mine by putting a rubber furniture leg pad and now I can actually know if it's working. There's also a sizeable delay between rotating and dimming of the light.
Impossible to pair, do not buy!YvanThe Bilresa model is impossible to pair; tried 2 of them for our under cabinet IKEA 18" lights bar with no luck. Get the Styrbar model which paired immediately and very easily.
Not so useful scroll wheelSimonOn paper, this remote has a lot of potential. 3 channels, 3 buttons per channel with additional long press and multipress actions adding up to 18 possible actions on a single remote. But in reality, it's too good to be true. The scroll wheel-button combo is not good. It feels cheap and flimsy. It requires a light touch to turn the wheel while not pressing down on the button. However, the wheel has no indent or grip, it is just very smooth. As a result, accidental presses happen constantly. It also tilts inwards around the edges as you scroll. The click doesn't give a consistent feedback. Sometimes it clicks, other times it's just a mushy press with no feedback at all. Whereas the 2 button Bilresa is a simple and well executed idea, this scroll wheel version simply is trying to do too much and it doesn't translate into a quality and reliable product.
