Worked - stop working - workingDavidI've seen all the bad reviews but decided to try it anyways. I added it to Apple Home without issue and setup a few actions on the buttons. The next day it stopped working... Removed batteries, put them back and it has been working over since - one week now. I'll keep testing. I would really like to try the temp/humid sensor when they get stock back!4
Wish I could rate 0 starsKiersyI was so excited to pair this to my Matter Homey Pro hub, but after 3 devices tried, it is just a poor product at this point.
It either gets stuck in the setup process, or gets stuck when trying to add to thread network, or gets added and them can't connect - or, and this was worse, finally got connected qnd working, but woke up next morning and connection lost and refused to re-pair.
I picked up the Styrbar and although it uses Zigbee, at least it works with my Homey Pro and so far no issues.
Until Ikea addresses the issues with Bilresa, I highly recommend not trying to use this for a Matter home, the headache is not worth it (unless you're using the Ikea app which i assume works well)1
works great, easy to pairKevinIf you are having issues, its likely not a device issue rather your IPv6 network. Do some research. I had a double NAT issue, when resolved; Thread devices became very reliable.5
Double click makes this WORSEOriIKEA needs to release a version of this switch without the double click feature. The problem is that after a single click, it has to wait for the maximum time a double click would be valid to see if the button gets pressed again, before it can decide what kind of click you meant. After that max time it can decide it was a single click. That means the instantaneous light switching with the previous RODRET switch is impossible, there's always a noticeable delay. Lag isn't what anyone expects from a light switch.
Double click has its place, but for most users and applications this isn't the best way to go. Please put out a parallel SKU like you had in the past (RODRET vs SOMRIG) or at least release a firmware update where a power user could specify to never wait for double clicks. Thanks for considering this IKEA!3
Works great, needs a thread routerJohnThe remote requires a thread router to connect with other smart devices. I picked one up and now I am able to turn both my lamps on/off with their connected smart plugs. I love the magnetic back attachment as it allows me to place the remote next to my light switch on the wall while having the option to take it where I want.4
Not connecting to matterShawnI can't connect to the device on Apple Home matter setup. Keeps saying "connection failed"2
Great ControllerStephenI like the nice, elegant style. Clicking on the buttons is nice and tactile. Paired very easily and quickly to Home Assistant and works great. Wonderful remote!5
Easy to pair it just worksKaiIt paired easily with my HomeKit via the Matter QR code. Each button is behaving as it is configured. Good value imo.5
Good Double Button RemoteAqeelUsing it with Sonoff-E USB Dongle -> Open Thread Border Router -> HomeAssistant. It generates Pressed once, twice and hold down events which can be used to trigger different automations. Good remote for the price.5
WORTH IT. 100% especially for Apple HomeJohn PaoloI have an Apple Home setup and this just integrated right into it. I just scanned the Matter code on the back and I was paired within a minute. I like that I can have 6 scenes (3 per button). Well worth the money and will go and get more!5
All goodWalidOriginally it didn't want to pair with Apple home after 3 rests, I was going to return it, but I really like the product it well made and sturdy so I kept pairing when I failed I rest, did it 5 more time and it finally was able to pair to Apple Home. Recommendations kept trying 5
Clicks often not registeredJosephSometimes it works flawlessly but other times it is not working well. I find if I pop out the fresh batteries and just put them back in it works better for a while. But not as reliable as zigbee versions for now.2
Fantastic product!Rachel And JayI’m a very demanding smart home enthusiast who uses nothing but Apple / Phillips Hue hardware. All my home’s light switches I’ve purchased to date are Lutron Aurora Dimmer Switches because up until now they’ve been the only light controls I’ve considered good enough for my home. But these new IKEA Remotes are absolute game changers! They work amazingly well and respond faster than I can control via voice to Siri. People on the internet have already started making 3D printed adapters for these remotes to turn them into what appears to be a standard normal in-wall light switches.
I bought one of these last weekend. And another one today. Will definitely be getting at LEAST 2 more at minimum. The price cannot be beat and these are an incredible value. Way to go IKEA!5
Pairs… and then nothing. ChrisPairs easily into HomeKit, then doesn’t do anything. I’ve tried changing the commands on both buttons - nothing. Factory reset, re-pair, same problem.
Affordable, yes. Works? No. 1
Can't pair itWalidCan't pair with HomeKit. Put the batteries, the orange light blinks, scan the QR Code but it timeout and the button becomes unresponsive even after removing the batteries. Found out how to rest it by long pressing the pair button until the red light is fix. But got the same result unable to pair. Going to return it unfortunately because even if there is firmware update to fix it I can't even apply it1
Easy set up and reasonably pricedJamesI’ve been looking at smart switches for a long time - this product is a fraction of the price and works great. It paired with my home instantly and integrated with my other products. Great no need for a hub.5
