The fabric dims daylight entering the room and reduces glare. It gives a comfortable sense of privacy as people cannot see in. At night, silhouettes can be perceived from outside when the room is lit.
Heading tape curtains with tie-backs allow you to hang the curtain directly on the rod or to hinge the curtain to the rail using gliders and hooks. The matching tiebacks enhance the fulness of the fabric.
Cotton fabric with a linen-look texture that adds depth and character. The fabric and its weight, combined with the header creates evenly spaced, neat folds.

Changed Material :(ValeriaI bought several packs of Ritva curtains in 2022. They used to be BEAUTIFUL and the way they draped looked high-end. Unfortunately my kids destroyed one of the panel sets so I went back the other day (in 2026) to repurchase them. I brought it home and was super disappointed to find Ikea changed them. They feel so much cheaper and the way they drape is quite ugly now. They're not as sheer anymore - the fabric feels more like denim whereas the old ones felt soft and flowing. I still have 2 sets of the older ones for comparison and it feels like such a misrepresentation to call both Ritva. If Ikea meant to change the product this much, they should have changed the name as well.

Different lengthsCarolI bought two pairs of these curtains for a large window two of the panels are longer than the other two nothing I did made it right. The walls were checked to see if they were level and curtains were hung in a pole using a laser level finally measured the curtains and two panels were different by over two inches. You have to do better with the quality control
Defective ProductFelixThese 2 pieces of curtain have different heights. The fabric's seam is twisted as well.
87” instead of 98”ChristianI own (now) 6 pairs of these curtains, for my whole house. They have been perfect. I just bought the 6th pair to complete my bedroom and they are 87” instead of 98”. That is an 11” difference! That is a crazy manufacturing error.

Do not wash ever!! They will significantly shrink and to uneven lengths!!MaBought these in 2020. Hung them and had no issues. Washed them for the first time last week. The IKEA site says machine wash hot, tumble dry medium, 4% shrinkage. Washed them on cool and hung them to dry for 24 hours, then tumbled dry on low heat.
After washing one shrunk to 90" long (8% shrink), second shrunk to 84" (14% shrink). I now have two shrunk curtains, two different lengths. I took them back to the store and was denied an exchange despite acknowledging the defect.
I understand the return policy, but these are curtains, I hung them and never touched them again for 3.5 years and when I did finally wash them following IKEA's instructions they were ruined. Very disappointed with the lack of support despite acknowledging the defect.
Lesson learned I guess, do not wash these curtains and read the other negative reviews on here... multiple reports from other customers that after washing these they significantly shrunk and to different lengths.

Linen look curtainTeresaI purchased these for my living room with the intention of hemming them. I did have them but found it a little difficult because the curtains are not cut on the grain. The crosswise grain is a little off but I did the best I could and they turned out pretty good.
