Was goodSteveThe roller blind lasted me about seven or eight years and then one day it got retracted too far and something broke inside and now I’m planning on gonna get another one because the size and the retractable is very convenient but they don’t last forever. They’re currently out of stock and it’s been quite a while. Just waiting for them to become available again.

Terrible product RodrigoInstructions with no text makes harder to install, but possible. The main problem is that it just doesn't work, it doesn't roll back to the top position.
Absolute garbageSimonWe bought 6 of these. 3 of them stopped retracting. The material is generally all cheap and terrible. No amount of re-winding it up will salvage this purchase and does not fix the retracting problem. Of the 3 that broke, 2 of them broke nearly immediately, and the other one lasted about 10 rotations before it also broke.
I know it's a matter of time until the remaining ones die too. Save your money.
The mechanics of it are great but material is flimsy.RichardIt was easy to install, especially with the template for the screw locations and levelling the install. I really like the way it rolls up on its own slowly and that you can preset the parking location. Unfortunately the material it’s made of is very flimsy and the edges are rolling away from the window frame and allowing light to get in, which defeats the purpose of having room darkening blinds; growing up our roller blinds had very firm material and lay flat.
If I had known how the material would reshape once installed and that there is no structural strength to it, I would not have bought the blind.
Mostly good, except for oneEvaI used these to do 3 rooms of my house and love them- they block out light really well and are easy to install and use. HOWEVER, they’ve been up for less than a year and now one of the sets no longer retracts. I have to twist the rod by hand to roll up the blind….

Trimming and Installing DifficultCeliaThink twice about this blind if you are going to need to trim it. As other reviewers said, these are difficult to trim.
I opted for inside window mount and spent time reviewing the instructions so that I was clear on how to trim the blind to fit. I called Ikea and spoke with a rep to be sure that I needed to trim the additional 15mm as it (really poorly) shows in the instructions. It took a huge struggle and pliers to remove the end piece from the rod so that I could trim it. After trimming rod and blind, the rod was still a hair too long. This time the end piece would not come out to allow me to further trim it. NOTHING is getting that piece out, making the blind useless. When I hold the blind in place inside the window frame I can see that a lot of light comes through the very large gaps between where the blind would sit and the window frame. Lost the cost and the shipping charge. Not satisfied with this product.

Blocks lightAngelaI’ve had some frustrating IKEA moments over the years, but I hated every second of hanging this blind. (I recently hung two curtain tracks on another window and it was straightforward and I LOVE the end result.) The first roller blind I purchased - yes I had to get two - I trimmed it to the width of the window as in the instructions, then realized I should have cut even more off. This was extremely difficult to interpret from the diagrams, and if I continued to cut I would exceed the maximum allowed. I had to go back and purchase the next size down. Getting the plastic end out of the roll to cut it is a nightmare. The fabric is so flimsy that my blind got crumpled while gently draped over the side of my table while I was cutting it. Be prepared for the pull bar to knick the bottom edge of the fabric as you carefully try to slide it in, and for the plastic pull to nearly slice through as you try to slide it on. I needed something to block the sun in that room, and it does that.

Affordable total blackout blinds plus the ease of being automatic!BethI previously had the roller blinds from ikea that weren’t automatic. These are the perfect colour match (beige) for my room as well as being automatic! All you have to do is pull them down a bit and they roll themselves up!!

Fonsterblad Roller BlindJaneI bought this roller blind to replace my previous Ikea roller blind that stopped rolling up properly after several years of use. After trimming it down and installing it I had some difficulty getting it to retract. The instructions are less than clear (diagram only) so I went on YouTube and found a 15 minute long video by Bhuvana Adi. I fast forwarded to the end and she had a great tip about how to set it so that it always retracts to a certain length (not winding up out of control). I was able to do this and I wish I had known this with the previous roller blind, it likely would have worked better for longer. This feature is not clear (it's illustrated in the diagram but without words it's hard to figure out what they are getting at.)
Blackout shadeSharleneGood quality. Not too difficult when having to cut. Unless using very good scissors, suggest exacto knife and straight edge to cut. Installed a curtain valence over it.
Roller BlindsMariaI'm very happy with my purchase at Ikea. My blinds look amazing and compliment the look of the rooms, especially because they block the sun 100% as I wanted.
Quick install PiyushI had researched the product online before going to the store. However, an IKEA employee helped me select the right size which was very useful. The installation took less than 10 mins with the help of another person to hold at the other end; mine was 60 inches wide. The spring mechanism works perfectly and it looks very nice.
Helpful for reducing heat, hopefully saving AC moneyStephanieSo it has a smell that definitely needed time to dissipate when it gets warm. I am also trying to limit how much I open/close is as I am unsure how long it will last. Regardless keeps my room dark and cool!
