What kind of payment methods are accepted at IKEA?

For your convenience, IKEA offers several options to pay for your items.

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Cash
  • IKEA gift cards / e-gift cards with PIN – limit of 4 gift cards per order
    (if no PIN, can only used in store)
  • VISA credit and debit cards
  • Mastercard credit and debit cards
  • American Express
  • Payplan by RBC
  • Google Pay
  • Apple Pay
  • PayPal (online only)
  • Afterpay (online only)


If you'd like to use a Prepaid VISA or Mastercard, you may need to register the card. IKEA requires all credit cards to be associated with a Canadian billing address. Instructions on how to do this can normally be found on the back of your card.
If not, please visit the VISA or Mastercard's website.

It is possible to use only ONE Credit Card on an online order with a maximum of 4 Gift Cards. Please refer to Customer Online Journey - Online Order Payments


However, it may be possible to use multiple Credit Cards/Gift Cards at the store depending upon the Store system availability. 

*Some stores may not accept cash. Please check the store page for any exceptions.

If you'd like to use a Prepaid VISA or Mastercard, you may need to register the card.
