General conditions for all warranties

What is warrantied?

The extent of the warranty given for each product is described alongside each product.

Duration of warranty

Each warranty lasts for the number of years stated against each product starting from the date of purchase.

What will IKEA do to correct the problem?

IKEA will examine the product and decide, at its sole discretion, if it is covered under this warranty. If considered covered, IKEA through its own service operations, will then, at its sole discretion, replace it with the same or a comparable product. If the item is no longer sold by IKEA, IKEA will provide an appropriate replacement. It is IKEA that determines, at its sole discretion, what constitutes an appropriate replacement.

Conditions for the warranties

The warranties are valid from the date of purchase at IKEA or date of delivery if later. The original purchase receipt is required as proof of purchase.

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover custom-made countertops, normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents. Follow our assembly instructions and care instructions carefully. This warranty does not apply to products that have been stored, assembled or installed incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or wrong cleaning products. This warranty does not apply if the products have been used for public use, outdoors or in a corrosive environment. It also does not cover accidental damage.

To be able to rely on this warranty you need to follow the specific care instructions at the IKEA stores and on the IKEA website.

General legal rights

This warranty gives you specific legal rights. It does not, in any way, affect the rights given to you by law. Items excluded from the IKEA free extended warranties will still be covered by the rights given to you by law.

If you need service for TILLREDA appliances, contact your local IKEA store or customer service. You will find the address and phone number at IKEA.ca/CustomerService. For all other appliances, please contact our service provider in the U.S.A. and Canada at 1-866-664-2449. Please have the IKEA article number (found on the receipt) and model/serial number (found on the rating plate of the appliance) on hand before calling. Helpful information can also be found in the "troubleshooting" section of the use and care guide for each appliance. If outside the 50 United States and Canada, contact your authorized IKEA retailer to determine if another warranty applies.

10-Year Warranty

What is covered under this warranty?
This warranty applies to domestic use only and covers defects in material and workmanship in the following furniture: GODMORGON furniture, GODMORGON legs, GODMORGON box with compartments, box with lid set of 5.

What is not covered under this warranty?
The warranty does not apply to TOLKEN counter tops.

Bathroom shower accessories

10-Year Warranty on thermostatic faucets
3-Year Warranty on riser rails, hoses, showerhead and parking bracket.

What is covered under this warranty?
This warranty is valid for BROGRUND and VOXNAN shower head, hand showers, shower hoses, and shower shelves, VALLAMOSSE hand shower, shower hose, and KOLSJÖN hand shower parking bracket, shower hose. The warranty is valid from the date of purchase and the original purchase receipt is required as proof of purchase.

What is not covered under this warranty?
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts and scratches, or damage caused by impacts, accidents, or waterborne debris, or if the products have been used in a corrosive environment.

10-Year Warranty

What is covered under this warranty?
This warranty is valid for all bathroom sinks (including water traps) and faucets at IKEA. The warranty applies to domestic use only and covers defects in material and workmanship in all bathroom sinks and faucets.

What is not covered under this warranty?
This warranty does not apply to products that have been stored, assembled or installed incorrectly, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods, wrong cleaning products, or damage caused by impacts, accidents or waterborne debris. It also does not apply to the filter/aerator of the faucet which should be cleaned regularly and replaced when worn out.

What is covered under this warranty?
This warranty applies to domestic use only for clothes and shoe storage and covers defects in material and workmanship in the following components of the PAX/KOMPLEMENT wardrobes and interior organizers:
• Frames
• Hinged doors and hinges
• Dividers for frames, shelf inserts and sectioned shelves
• Sliding doors and sliding door mechanism
• KOMPLEMENT interior organizers.

Mattresses

25-Year Warranty

What is covered under this warranty?
This warranty covers defects in material and workmanship in the following components of the mattresses and/or bed bases described below from the date of purchase from IKEA:
• Wooden frame and springs in wooden base spring mattresses
• Springs in spring mattresses
• Foam core in foam mattresses
• Latex core in latex mattresses
• Wooden frame and slats in slatted bed bases.

Products not covered under this warranty:
All mattress toppers, children's mattresses and sofa bed mattresses.


Cooking

SENSUELL pots and pans

25-Year Warranty
Valid for all pots and pans in SENSUELL series.

What is covered under this warranty?
This warranty covers function, materials and workmanship in the above listed series. The warranty covers:
• Stability of the base
• Washing in a domestic dishwasher.

What is not covered under this warranty?
This warranty does not cover changes in the appearance of the cookware unless they have a significant effect on function.

VARDAGEN cast iron series

25-Year Warranty
Valid for all cast iron cookware in the VARDAGEN series.

What is covered under this warranty?
This warranty covers function, materials and workmanship in all cookware in the VARDAGEN cast iron series. This means that, in normal domestic use and provided that our care instructions are followed, the cookware will still work as well as it did when it was new even after 25 years respectively. In this instance, normal use is defined as using an item for cooking and washing it once a day.

The warranty covers:
• Stability of the base. In other words, the base of the cookware remains flat to conduct heat efficiently.
• The warranty is only valid if you wash your cookware by hand.

What is not covered under this warranty?
This warranty does not cover changes in the appearance of the cookware unless they have a significant effect on function. This warranty does not apply to products that have been stored incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with wrong cleaning methods or cleaning products. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, cuts or scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents. This warranty does not apply if the product has been placed outdoors or in a humid environment. This warranty does not cover consequential or incidental damages.

IKEA 365+ pots and pans

15-Year Warranty
Valid for all pots & pans without non-stick coating
5-Year Warranty
Valid for all pots & pans with non-stick coating.

What is covered under this warranty?
This warranty covers function, materials and workmanship in all cookware in the above listed series. The warranty is valid if you wash your non-stick coating pan by hand, other cookware - washed in a domestic dishwasher.

The warranty covers:
• Stability of the base
• Non-stick properties on non-stick pans.

What is not covered under this warranty?
This warranty does not cover changes in the appearance of the cookware unless they have a significant effect on function.

TROVÄRDIG frying pans

5-Year Warranty

What is covered under this warranty?
This warranty covers function, materials and workmanship in all cookware in the above listed series. This warranty is valid if you wash your non-stick coating pan by hand.

The warranty covers:
• Stability of the base
• Non-stick properties.

What is not covered under this warranty?
This warranty does not cover changes in the appearance of the cookware unless they have a significant effect on function.

BRILJERA knives

25-Year Warranty
Valid for all knives in the BRILJERA series. See the warranty details for IKEA 365+ knives below. The same warranty applies to BRILJERA series.

IKEA 365+ knives

15-Year Warranty
Valid for all knives in the IKEA 365+ series.

What is covered under this warranty?
This warranty covers function, materials and workmanship in all knives in the IKEA 365+ knives series. This means that, in normal domestic use and provided that our care instructions are followed, the knives will still work as well as they did when they were new, even after 15 years. In this instance, normal use is defined as using (for cutting food) and cleaning the knife by hand once a day and regular sharpening.

• Sharpness of the knife. The knife shall be sharp when you buy it and you will be able to keep it sharp so it can function properly, every day. The knife blade is made of a steel that is hardened so that it is possible to sharpen the knife to original sharpness anytime during the warranty period.
• Durable handle. The handle of the knife should not crack, break or come loose from the blade so that the knife is not possible to use.
• That there will not be any corrosion on the knife blade.

What is not covered under this warranty?
This warranty does not cover changes in the appearance of the knife unless they have a significant effect on function. This warranty does not apply to products that have been stored incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned with the wrong cleaning methods or cleaning products.

25-Year Warranty

What products are covered under this warranty?
This warranty applies to domestic kitchen use only. This warranty covers all of the following parts of the SEKTION kitchen system:
• Cabinet frames
• Fronts
• UTRUSTA hinges
• MAXIMERA fully-extending drawers
• UTRUSTA shelves of tempered glass and melamine
• Toekicks
• Legs
• Cover panels
• Deco strips/mouldings
• Pre-cut countertops except LILLTRÄSK
• Sinks except FYNDIG
• VÅGLIG and UTRUSTA connecting rail
• UTRUSTA supporting frame for waste.

Products not covered under this warranty:
• Knobs, handles
• LILLTRÄSK countertop
• KASKER/PERSONLIG custom made countertops

Appliances

5-Year Warranty

How long is the limited warranty valid?
This limited warranty is valid for five (5) years from the date of purchase. TILLREDA and LAGAN appliances have a two (2) year warranty, valid from the original date of purchase. When this major appliance is operated and maintained according to instructions for use attached to or furnished with the product. This warranty is valid only in the United States and Canada and applies only when the major appliance is used in the country in which it was purchased. Outside the 50 United States and Canada, this limited warranty does not apply. Proof of original purchase date is required to obtain service under this limited warranty.

What is covered under this limited warranty?
The limited warranty will pay for factory specified parts and repair labour to correct defects in materials or workmanship that existed when the major appliance was purchased. The exceptions are specified under the headline “What is not covered under this limited warranty?”.

Which appliances are covered under this limited warranty?
The five year (5) limited warranty is valid for all IKEA appliances, except for TILLREDA and LAGAN appliances, which have a 2-year limited warranty.

What will be done to correct the problem?
The designated service company will examine the product and decide, at its sole discretion if it is covered under this limited warranty. If considered covered, the designated service company will then repair the defect. Your sole and exclusive remedy under this limited warranty shall be product repair provided herein. Within the warranty period, the costs to remedy the fault e.g. repairs, parts, labour and travel will be covered, provided that the appliance is accessible for repair without special expenditure.

Who will execute the service?
Our professional independent service partner will provide the service through its own service operations or authorized service partner network.

What is not covered under this warranty?
Service calls to correct the installation of your major appliance, to instruct you on how to use your major appliance, to replace or repair house fuses, or to correct house wiring or plumbing. Service calls to repair or replace appliance light bulbs, air filters or water filters. Consumable parts are excluded from warranty coverage. Replacement parts or repair labour if this major appliance is used for other than normal, single-family household use or when it is used in a manner that is contrary to published user or operator instructions and/or installation instructions. Damage resulting from accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, fire, flood, acts of God, improper installation, installation of not in accordance with electrical or plumbing codes, or use of consumables or cleaning products not approved for use. Cosmetic damage, including scratches, dents, chips or other damage to the finish of your major appliance, unless such damage results from defects in materials or workmanship and is reported within 30 days from the date of purchase. Any food loss due to refrigerator or freezer product failures. Pick up and delivery. This major appliance is intended to be repaired in your home. Repairs to parts or systems resulting from unauthorized modifications made to the appliance. Expenses incurred for travel and transportation for product service if your major appliance is located in a remote area where service by an authorized servicer is unavailable. The removal and reinstallation of your major appliance if it is installed in an inaccessible location or is not installed in accordance with published installation instructions. Replacement parts or repair labour on major appliances with original model/serial numbers that have been removed, altered or cannot be easily determined. This warranty is void if the factory applied serial number has been removed or altered from your appliance. The cost of repair or replacement under these excluded circumstances shall be borne by the customer.

Disclaimer of Implied Warranties
Implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability or implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to five years (two years for LAGAN or TILLREDA) or the shortest period allowed by law. Some provinces do not allow limitations on the duration of implied warranties of merchantability or fitness, so this warranty may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you also may have other rights that vary from province to province.

Limitations of Remedies: Exclusion of Incidental and Consequential Damages
Your sole and exclusive remedy under this limited warranty shall be product repair as provided herein. The designated service company shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages. Some provinces do not allow the exclusion of limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations and exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you legal rights and you may also have other rights that vary from province to province or territory.

The 10-year warranty is valid for all kitchen faucets at IKEA. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty applies to domestic use only.
