What are the general requirements and conditions for IKEA deliveries?

IKEA Belgium delivers to your home in several ways depending on your address and the items ordered. Before placing an order, it is essential to verify that your address is eligible and that access allows for safe delivery. At checkout, the system automatically displays the available options (parcel, truck or express delivery) based on your cart and location.

  1. Minimum amount and quantity. A minimum amount of €19.99 is required, whether for delivery by parcel or truck. Some product families may require a minimum quantity to be deliverable. If these conditions are not met, the delivery options will not be displayed.
  2. Ineligible addresses and accessibility. IKEA does not deliver to PO Boxes, addresses that are deemed unsafe, inaccessible, located on construction sites or in unfinished buildings. Access must be clear, secure and easily passable to allow safe delivery. Deliveries outside Belgium are limited to Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. For customers residing outside the EU who wish to export their IKEA purchases for a move, personal shipment or any other reason, IKEA Belgium does not have the legal authorisation to process these exports directly.
  3. Delivery methods. After payment, you can take the items directly to the store; have them delivered to a store, Pick-up Point or Parcel Collection Point in Belgium, have them delivered to an address in Belgium by IKEA for orders exceeding €19.99 incl. VAT.
  4. Deliveries from IKEA.be. All orders placed on IKEA.be are delivered to the ground floor. For a single-floor delivery, the order must be placed by phone on +32 2 719 19 19 or in store to check the conditions of access.
  5. Deliveries in Luxembourg. For orders placed on IKEA.be and deliveries in Luxembourg, delivery is only made to your home. Delivery to the room of your choice in Luxembourg is only available for orders placed in store.
  6. Delivery to the room of your choice. For delivery to the ground floor, check that items can fit through doors, corridors and interior accesses. For a single-floor delivery, the order must be made by phone or in store.
  7. Delivery upstairs.
    • Up to the 3rd floor: maximum 500 kg via the internal stairs
    • Up to the 6th floor: maximum 250 kg via internal stairs
    • Beyond that: external lift is mandatory (cost €200). To book an outdoor lift, contact customer service or visit the store.
  1. Express delivery. Available (± 24 hours) only in select zip codes near the store of purchase.
  2. Conditions for deliveries by truck, deliveries in front of the home and in the room of your choice. A parking space is required: 15 meters for standard delivery and 25 meters if an outdoor elevator is required. In the absence of a suitable location, IKEA reserves the right to cancel the delivery. When ordering, it is important to provide all relevant information, such as access codes, parking instructions, any permits or temporary constraints. Before delivery, make sure that elevators, corridors, stairs, and doors allow parcels to pass through to ensure safe delivery.
  3. Delivery times. The standard time frame is 8 weeks, starting from the day after purchase, unless otherwise stated. The date communicated is indicative. In the event of a delay, IKEA will inform the customer. If delivery does not take place after a reasonable additional time, the customer can cancel the order and be refunded.
  4. Receipt of delivery You must be present or represented by an adult.
If the "Deposit Authorization" service is available and chosen, the delivery person can drop off the order in a safe place without a signature. Once deposited, the delivery is considered completed and the risk is transferred to the customer.
  5. Transfer of ownership and risks. Ownership of the products passes to you upon full payment. The risk of loss or damage is transferred to the store immediately or to the time of physical delivery to your home or to a collection point.
  6. Eligible Products. Most IKEA products are available. Some categories are only available in stores: natural plants, food products from the Swedish shop and items from the Second Life Space. Delivery or pickup options are listed in the "How to Obtain" section of each product.
  7. Cancellation of the order. You can track your order in our Self-Service Portal with your order number and your email or phone number.
If your order is already being processed, it is too late to cancel it, but you can return any unwanted items after receipt. IKEA offers a 365-day return policy, even for unpacked products, if you ordered as an IKEA Family member.
For online orders, you can also cancel or return the products within 14 days of delivery and get a full refund, including the basic shipping fee.
