DO NOT PURCHASEAlyssaAs title states, DO NOT PURCHASE. As other reviews have stated, there is a major design flaw with the supporting arm. When assembled, the arm completely sags down to the point where its touching your head when sitting down in a chair.

2 stars due to massive 'under engineering' of stem attachment to the base. They use a threaded piece of metal that sits in the bottom of the stem/post. It is only held in by the tightness of the fit and grooves that I guess are to add grip. No weld, no screw, no knurling, no folded metal to hold it in. The weight of the assembled stem alone is almost enough the pull the threaded fitting out. Once you attach a lampshade, it is guaranteed to pull out. Dangerously bad design. I put a screw through the base of the stem into the threaded fitting as I like the lamp and did not want to go through the return process only to swap it over for the same problem.
