Does not work with larger shadesColbyBought this thinking from the images online it would sit up fairly high when paired with the Nymö lamp shade but after installing the added weight made it droop down such that it sat level with my head. I am 5 foot 9. With this droop it meant the bulb sat out probably a meter and a half from the base.
If you could choose how many segments you wanted to attach and install the bulb a segment closer to the base then it would have worked perfectly but you can’t as the cable is pre thread through the arm pieces.
Will unfortunately be returning in search of something else.

Looks nice, but sagsConnieA nice looking lamp base. However, it is too weak to support any substantial lamp shade: we used it with Dyrkalocka and it sags to a very low level above the dining table. Photo illustrations online are deceiving about the height.
The arm needs to be made stronger, the screws holding the different parts together are somewhat flimsy.

The arm is too weak and sags about 15cm once it has an (IKEA) lampshade on it and also bounces a lot at any small touch. Provided nuts are not strong enough to hold the arm securely (I even stripped one trying to tighten it more so the arm would stop moving). Would not have bought if I knew this.
Poor construction! Not recommended at all. RuchindraThis product is very poorly constructed. Like all the other negative reviewers say, the lamp sags over time and will eventually give where the Rob connects to the base. I very carefully dismantled the lamp for a house move and was never able to put together in its intended way again. I even took the lamp back to IKEA for help only to be told there is nothing they could do. I finally purchase a very strong glue and glued the bottom rod to the base, but the top still sags. Very disappointed.

This thing sags like crazy and if you look around you'll see so many people with this issue. Unless you want them lamp sitting very very low with a massive arch downwards, don't buy it.

Great lightHannahI love the big long arch, and paired with one of the interesting globes, it gives a great soft light. The screws are a little hard to get in, and ours appears to be a little skewiff at the globe end, but still looks good!
Very difficult to assemble and not very sturdyAdrianI love most IKEA products but I wasn't too impressed with this lamp: it was incredibly fidgety to put together (teeny tiny screws that lost their thread from trying to screw them in), it swayed a lot after I assembled it, and I didn't know until after I bought it that the switch to turn the lamp on is right at the very top of the arc. Being a short woman, I can't turn it on or off without standing on something which is not very practical!
