Reviews

Ikea can't seem to make a good chairJasonThis is my second armchair from Ikea and once again it's a terrible arm chair. The flat hard wooden arm rest, causes pain on the elbows when holding a book, I had to buy expensive thick foam rubber stick on tape to make it not hurt, also the two wooden slats that the cushion sits on, one at the rear is right where your tail bone is and the front one puts pressure behind your knees. Ikea seems to have a real problem designing comfortable chairs and I'm very sus on the ratings people are giving them. Their recliner chair has thin narrow arm rests too, it really seems this is just some weird quirk of the Swedish, great at everything else, just can't do chairs. Strange.2
Comfortable, well balanced chair.JohnVery comfortable light weight rocker, well built and very typical of the poang range, at a reasonable price.5
IncredibleAditiBought this intended as a nursing chair. Sadly my husband has fallen in love with it and I keep having to kick him off. Came together perfectly, no creaking or squeaks, excellent back support even though I'm only 5 foot 25

Small Unit furnishingVickiBought for my son who lives is a 1 bedroom unit and did not require chunky furniture - it is comfortable and cost effective - we will see how it wears over time - like the idea that the cover can be replaced.4

Material

What is layer-glued wood?

With layer-glued wood it’s possible to create flexible and extra strong constructions with curved shapes, like frames for armchairs. The secret is a technique where many layers of thin wood veneer are glued together and then pressed into the desired shape. We often use wood like birch, beech, ash and even bamboo – and strive to use the raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste. Just like solid wood, it has natural variations in structure and colour.
