Bad designAndrewDo note the sensor of ambient brightness is located at the bottom of the light, which mean it'll stay light up even at day time, if the room is just slightly dark/with no direct sunlights.
Simple, does the job.VeronicaSimple, no fuss with extra batteries, as expected.
Not for publishing - Serious complaintEdwardDisappointed, unfortunately. I had these in Europe (for about half the price in AUD!) and they were great, but here the sensor is always on the shaded bottom, not the top, so they stay on during the day. This suggests a better design would be adjustable, so the sensor can be turned towards natural light or away, depending on the position of the sun and your needs. Could you please send me 2 adaptors so I can turn these upside dow for use in Australia? Thanks! :-)
Very useful RhiannonGot these because I was soon to be in labour and wanted to keep the lights off. Bright enough to use the bathroom without needing the lights on.
Could be betterNickiIt would be great if Ikea made a different version of these that had a motion sensor so that the lights only turned on when someone enters the room rather than staying on all night until morning (wasting power and costing money).
Great nightlightJadeUnfortunately the sensor for daylight turn off doesn’t seem to work for us but that’s not an issue, I just unplug it in the morning but the actual light is perfect, very soft lighting and works great to light my kids rooms
Morkradd nightlightsAnonymous reviewernice, soft light but enough to navigate area (bathroom). would have liked a sensor version.
Very bright!SylviaFor a small apartment, one of these shines the way quickly.
For a child's bedroom, it is perfect for a guide to the bathroom and back to bed.
Great near kitten/puppy sleep areas when acclimatising in a new home.

Night LightsAmeliaBut too bright for a night light for what we wanted.
Great little lightsAmandaThese are great little lights. Warm light, just enough to see your way around and no need to turn on a light. They turn on as it starts to get dark and go off early in the morning when it starts to get light.
Handy little gizmoEstelleLove the fact it doesn't need to be turned on and off. Decent enough light to go to the bathroom when half asleep.

I've now got four ofJoyI've now got four of these around the house. They're set & forget. I actually bought the first pack for my cats, so they can see where they're going when using their kitty litter trays at night! The second pack was mostly for me, put one in my bathroom & the other in the hallway for when I get home in the dark & can't see where I'm going!

New design! Still bad!LJust bought the revised version of these with different sensor holes than the earlier model and unfortunately, it's still just as bad. The sensor location is still at the wrong position. Because of how Australian sockets are designed, it should be on the top of the enclosure instead. It being at the bottom means it won't be able to detect enough light in the room during daytime. Hence the reason why it's always On even during the day. Your room would literally have to be on fire for it to detect enough light to turn Off. 99% of the low star reviews of this product be resolved if the sensors were in the right position and that it would actually be sensitive enough to turn Off during daylight. Come on Ikea. This product has been out for years and you still can't get this right for the Australian market. At least redesign it so that users can rotate the sensors.
