Total downgrade from the old Kivik. New Kivik sucks.Matt B.I had the old Kivik which unfortunately broke twice in 5 years and it has been replaced (for a second time) with the new Kivik, so I can say with some authority that the new Kivik sucks.
There are some improvements, but goodness me is this thing hard. "Firm" doesn't even describe it. You would be more comfortable laying on the floor. This thing is HARD.
Not only that, but I am fairly certain it is thinner too.
For a $700 couch you'd expect something at least half decent but you are better spending your money on something else.
One of the big improvements I will say is the armrests are a bit lower, so you can actually lie down on this thing if you are over 6ft.
It also feels somehow "cheaper". Hard to describe but it just feels like it is lower quality.
Hopefully it is sturdier than the last two are least.2

Ok, but it"s not as comfortable as the last versionRob H.We had initially tried the Kivik when it was made with its prior foam and it was superbly comfortable. But at the time it was unfortunatly out of stock. We have just bought the new version with the new "memory foam" and it's not the soft luxurious cloud that the last version was. It's ok, but in being honest, it was a little disappointing. It's far firmer to sit on and we don't feel it's an improvement, but more of a down grade when it comes to comfort. Whoever decided to change the core of this couch should have given it a different name and kept the old Kivik model. I would not recommend it without having tried it first, especially if you've only tried the prior model from last year (2021), but still, for the price, it's ok value.3
A great couchMegThe Kivik is a great couch, it's comfortable, stylish and is under $1000. The assembly was so easy and our delivery experience was extremely efficient.5
