Not non stickKarinI switched to ceramic from normal non stick pan to give it a try. I follow all the instructions on how to take care of the pan and it starts become sticky after 2 weeks. I brought to the store and try to return it and it is refused because there is a policy change of something. Not very happy customer here.1

Great! .... for a minuteChristinaWe absolutely loved the old non-stick range from Ikea. I was disappointed that they were no longer available, but was assured that these new ceramic non-stick pans were better. So I bought all of the sizes. For the first couple of uses, they were great, but now they’re stickier than a pub floor at closing time. The frustrating part is they still look perfect, so every time I use one I think it’s going to perform like new - but tonight I cooked eggs and they basically welded themselves to the pan. For something marketed as “non-stick,” the performance drops off far too quickly. Really disappointing.1

What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?

Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties. Sol-gel can be produced in different colours, it withstands high heat, is easy to use and clean – and allows cooking with little or no fat.
