As we age, glare becomes a problem.
If you are over 60 AND/OR you plan to use this in a bedroom, buy the 250 lumen globe instead. FYI I can't justify the extra cost for Tradfi for one lamp.
I use this light to balance the glare from my computer display which is turned down as low as I can get it.
With the lower lumen globe I can look at Fado 25cm without my eyes watering.
When unpacking & installing the globe, do so on a bed so you can hold the glass orb against your body on a soft surface as you remove/install the base.
This lamp is NOT for a household with rambunctious kids & pets. Cats are the enemy of glass! Not for a wobbly table.
The switch is about 15cm from the base. Easy to wipe & keep clean.
Very happy with my purchase now I've got the smaller globe.

Also takes up a lot of space. Mine had a couple 'dead pixels' ie a couple points with no paint but I couldn't be bothered returning it because of how fragile it is to transport.

Material
What is glass?
Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
