Elevated chicEmilyA really quality piece from IKEA. One star off just because of how dark the timber is - it might as well be black. Would have preferred it to be a bit more mahogany but otherwise still a very comfortable armchair.4
Good value MCM designNickLove the midcentury inspired design, it's very comfortable but I noticed out of the box it's a lot firmer than the display, so hopefully it'll break in a bit. The frame is also way darker than it appears in the photos, it almost looks black in real life, the wood grain is very hard to see if not in direct sun. It would be nice to have a lighter wood like you can get overseas, but even a slightly lighter walnut stain would be better than the current. I would also rather an oiled finish rather than the thick lacquer used as it looks a bit plasticky.4
