Attractive and useful, but very difficult to assembleVashtiI like this thing, but recommend buying a drill to assemble it with. Never in my life have I had to use so much muscle to screw together flat pack furniture. I have blisters and sore wrists from how hard it was to do with a screwdriver. 3
Not so greatAnonymous reviewerTough installation. Bad quality screws and fasteners. Drill is mandatory for this product but the screw tops get free and doesn't get fastened. Main bed and insert bed can't get aligned until the we get ne low screws. These are 2-4 weeks out. Not recommended at all. 2
Good product. Difficult to assemble. Installation service disappointing AnilPaid for installation. Some parts were missing. Installer did not give right details to ikea about missing parts. Difficulty in contacting customer service. Had to go and pickup missing parts from ikea. Staff at store were very helpful. More confusion with installer 5
Difficult to assemble, unsafe for kids, and poorly designed overall.Azita
I was very disappointed with this bed.
The assembly was extremely difficult and time-consuming, with unclear instructions. After assembly, the bed didn’t move smoothly at all — the sliding mechanism felt stuck.
The corners are very sharp and dangerous, especially for children.
The drawers don’t sit properly in place and keep sliding out.
Also, when the bed is extended, two mattresses don’t fit side by side as expected.
I ended up returning the product. Definitely not recommended.1
Make sure you have a whole day to assemble RenaeIt took two of us 5 hours to assemble. The instructions could be more detailed in terms of separating the screws into different bags, providing guidance/labels on the pieces to show which way they go. The instructions were hard to follow at some parts. And maybe put a note on the front that you’re too open all boxes as you need parts from other boxes not one at a time. The instructions give off the impression that box one is for the trundle, box two for the main frame etc but it’s not. We haven’t slept on it yet but I’m not too confident in the slates, I don’t understand why one side of the slates is screwed in and the other side is a lose bolt that wiggles? The bed itself looks nice and it quite big when pulled out. Let’s see how long it lasts. I don’t think it’s worth the $300 mark (bed on its own) only because of the build. The mattress seem pretty comfy but once again haven’t slept on it. Will be used as a spare bed/ couch. 4
Great option for guest roomNatashaThis is a great choice for a guest room. However did take a while to put all parts together. When pulled out to full size, best to use a Queen or King flat sheet to make the bed. 4
Day BedRodolfoVery comfortable, plenty of space in the drawers. 5
Good Deal MazharGood product 4
Amazing bed PhilFirstly, I paid Ikea to assemble this as I had read some people had taken 5+ hours to assemble this. The guy did it in 1 hour!!!
Love the pull-out bed option as our second bedroom is too small for a double bed but good size for a single. We use the drawers for extra bedding and pillows. Just don't put too much heavy things in there.
Very happy!5
Ok ok product AparajitaProduct is good but bit overpriced

Very happy with our purchaseLindaVery happy with our purchase suit’s our needs perfectly 👍5
Long install, but good finishBrookeMy husband and I are pretty handy, this took us 3 hours to complete from opening boxes to putting mattresses on. It is a long install, the instructions could be a bit more helpful if everything was numbered and the boxes (1,2,3) actually had the correct sections for that number in them. But overall instructions were good - just look at everything closely. You do need a lot of room to complete the install and lay everything out.
The final finish looks really nice.4
Beware of the handles - they hurt.DavidAs others have commented - this is a difficult build and not suitable for beginners. You need plenty of space for building it. Ironic because it is ideal for people without much space. However, once it's up and working, it's great. The only thing is that the drawer handles are at the right height and sharpness to inflict serious pain to your leg or more often the legs of your guests.4
Great space saving single bedCarolineThis is a great space saving bed. Converts from single to double easily. But it is the most difficult flat pack I have ever assembled. I have assembled non-Ikea side boards as well as Ikea queen size bed and Ikea cabinets and drawers, etc. This was the first time I actually needed an electric screwdriver. The most difficult part of assembling the Brimnes was getting the roller wheels screwed on.5
Love the lookGeorgiaThis bed looks amazing once constructed. It is, however, the most difficult IKEA construction I’ve ever had and I wish that it was recommended to use a drill. You also cannot construct this bed alone and need a minimum of 2 people to put together. It was painful putting this together without power tools and it would be great if some of the holes had been pre drilled, like so many other IKEA products are. My recommendation for this is to either buy or borrow a power drill and to watch a video of constructing it instead of following the infographic provided.5
Sturdy, roomy, patienceNatalieDon’t be in a hurry to construct this bed , it takes time and you need to concentrate on the instructions. But it is totally worth it, the bed is sturdy , heaps of storage room, it’s compact and doesn’t take up unnecessary room with bulk.5
Looks and operates as expectedMichelleGood quality and works well. Would recommend a video with assembly instructions.5
Awful qualityVishalTerrible quality and horrible instructions for assembling.2
