Beautiful in its simplicity LaraThe Blanda range is just gorgeous - both the stainless and wooden varieties. I'm working my way through collecting the full set, with two of each of the larger bowls (20cm and above) and I can't decide whether four or six each of the smaller ones. The satin-mixed-with-shine finish on the steel bowls is beautiful, and the weight of the wooden bowls makes them feel so comfortable in the hand, but really solid at the same time. The flat bases are on the slightly-smaller-than-perfect size, or at least they are for a clumsy knocker-overer-of-stuff like me. They sit perfectly, and don't overbalance when they have things in them, but give them a decent thwack with a stray hand or elbow, and you've got a race on your hands to prevent a spillover. Perfect as a serving dish, a salad bowl, fruit bowl, or even as a place to put an indoor plant, and surround the pot plant with gravel or glass beads, etc, while the Blanda bowl keeps water away from your furniture.5

I love this for my toddler. It is perfect size, sturdy, and easy to clean. Trying to get away from plastic and not ready for glass/ceramic yet. Definitely recommend!

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing things – without losing its valuable properties.
