Old world charmJudyI was looking for just a small lamp shade to go on a base that I already had. It was very hard finding one. All the small bedside lamps came complete with both parts. When I saw the Arskog table lamp I fell in love with it and was glad to see that it came in both polished silver and polished gold. Both were beautiful and the choice was hard to make. A feature that was different from all other lamps was the hanging chain to switch the light on and off. Since using it I absolutely love that I don't have to go fiddling around in the dark to find the switch. The pleated fabric and conical shape of the shade softens the look and adds to the old world charm.

Elegant Lamp with Victorian-era CharmMelissaThis gorgeous lamp is stunning quality & looks completely at home on my antique bedside table. Assembled in mere minutes, I particularly loved the fabric lampshade & the whimsical, old-world brass pull-cord - also extremely practical for a bedside lamp. No more fumbling in the dark for a switch located in some awkward spot on a power cord! Love, love, love my new Arstid lamp. I'm sure I have many happy hours of bedtime reading ahead.
Recommended bulb on website gives off a good level of light for reading - would like a lower wattage bulb for a more ambient mood. It'd be great if Ikea's bulb recommendations included a description of light strength & perhaps had two options for every light (Bright / Ambient) to help customers make the right light / mood choices.

Nice lamp, but!ChrisBought two lamps some time ago, unfortunately one shade lining has gone brittle and is slowly disintegrating. I went to buy a replacement shade only to find that shade size is not available (you can buy larger or smaller shades in that style). I had to purchase a complete lamp to get a replacement shade. Otherwise the lamp is good and works well but why no replacement shades?
