Explore Angie Kent’s home haven and bedroom sanctuary

In homes where you share common spaces with friends or family, your bedroom becomes a little escape where everything can be exactly how you want it. In her shared Sydney apartment, Angie wanted to use her favourite palette of warm, earthy tones to create a room that was uniquely her.

Let Angie give you a tour of her amazing home

Home is very important. I believe that home can be where your heart lies, and where you feel your best self. It’s how you create it, and how you feel in the home is the most important thing.

Layer up for comfort

Angie chose a mix of textures and patterns for her bedding, all in soft colours that make it easy to relax and wind down. She admits she is ‘mad’ for cushions and loves to nestle into a pile of comfy cushions and pillows at night. Her bedroom has wooden floors that let in the cold, so layered rugs provide warmth and make the bedroom feel a bit cozier.

Creating a comfy meditation nook

Sometimes even having a place to sit can be a luxury when space is tight, but Angie wanted to prioritise space for a comfy reading chair. In an apartment when most spaces are shared, it was important for her to be able to curl up and take some time out to relax.
“This is my little meditation section where I try to do some writing and reading. It’s a space for Angie time.”

Lighting tricks to create the perfect mood

A range of different clever lighting solutions in Angie’s room help make it feel warm, and also offer some handy extra functions.

A floor lamp over her chair provide the right light for reading, the bedside tables have lighting with integrated wireless phone chargers, and her wardrobe features clever sensor lighting strips that switch on when she opens the wardrobe door.
