Our IKEA return policy

We’ve detailed everything about our generous IKEA return policy – which is the same for all customers and all channels – on this page.

At IKEA, it’s OK to change your mind. Sometimes what seemed perfect for your home, office or garden, just isn’t. Returning a product to us is convenient and hassle-free, no matter how or where it’s bought.

You have 365 days to return your purchase for a full refund. We will refund you by the same method as your original payment. If the returns criteria are not fully met, we may refuse the return or offer an exchange or gift card.

Take advantage of IKEA express returns. If you have less than 10 items to return, fill in the online form and follow the instructions here.

‘Love it or exchange it’ mattress exchange policy

‘Love it or exchange it’ is our IKEA 365 return policy for newly purchased mattresses. So if after a while you discover that it is too firm, too soft or too something else, just bring the mattress back and simply change it for another.

How to exchange an IKEA mattress

Simply bring your mattress and receipt to any IKEA store, and we’ll help you find a different one. If you want your mattress delivered back to IKEA, we’ll help you book a most reliable delivery service provider.

Things to note: IKEA mattress exchange

  • You can exchange your mattress or mattress pad once within 365 days.
  • The only condition is that it’s not dirty, marked or damaged.
  • The policy doesn’t apply to SULTAN bed bases or bed slats.
  • New mattresses often feel a bit too firm, so wait a month to get used to yours.
  • It’s also important to choose the right pillow.
  • Once you’ve found your perfect mattress, it’ll be covered by our 10-year IKEA mattress guarantee.
  • If your mattress exchange is an upgrade, you’ll just cover the price difference between the original and the replacement.
  •  If the replacement’s price is lower, we’ll credit the difference to an IKEA refund card.
  • Customers arranging a collection from the store will be provided with a mattress bag to pack and seal the used mattress, before placing the package outside for collection at an arranged time.
  • For customers arranging a collection via the customer service centre, a mattress bag will be provided at the time of collection.
  • The customer will be required to pack and seal the mattress in the provided mattress bag before it is taken away by the service provider.
