I cannot add the light source into the TRÅDFRI gateway.

To be able to add a light source to your gateway you need to have a steering device.

To be able to add a light source to your gateway you need to have a steering device (remote control, wireless dimmer or motion sensor). Follow the instruction in the app, meaning first add your steering device to your gateway and then pair your light sources with that device.
