Why does my mattress smell?
Our new mattresses may have a smell when you open them as they have been vacuum sealed but we can assure you this will go away with some airing, in up to 72 hours.
Our mattresses are manufactured and immediately wrapped in plastic in the same factory. Many of the bedding products are vacuum packed – removing the air from the product for efficient shipping. All products are stored for an extended period in plastic.
The smell is a result of the absence of air and plastic packaging, and your mattress needs plenty of air before any smell will neutralise. Airing, sunlight if possible and regular vacuuming will help to eliminate the smell.
