Find the meerkats!

Meerkats never seem to be still and they are always on the lookout for danger. The dark patches around their eyes act as natural sunglasses and if a predator approaches, they sound an alarm to warn the others to hide in burrows underground. A meerkat clan can have up to 50 members. How many can you see here? Bring home your own SANDLÖPARE soft toy meerkat or get a mini meerkat mascot.

Classic toys for children of today

Some toys never get outdated, for the best of reasons. It’s hard to beat classic, sturdy toys in bright colours, with functions that help the baby or child develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Most of the toys are made of solid wood – since that classic material is as hard to beat as the toy’s functions!

A five star imagination

One example of children’s wild imagination is that they truly believe that doing grown-up things like cooking and grocery shopping is fun. And who knows? With SILLTRUT play kitchen they might practice their skills enough to help you with the real cooking sooner than you thought. That would be great fun for all of you!

A baby gym - or a miracle of shapes and colours?

With its classic wood structure, LEKA baby gym blends into any room, yet provides a world of colours to the little baby laying below it. Together with the shapes, moves and sounds, the colours help the baby develop its senses and hand-eye coordination.

The smart design makes the hanging toys detachable from the arch, so that the baby can play with them on the floor as well. Another benefit of that design is that someone sitting next to the baby gym can wiggle the top attachments to make the toys rattle and move, which will seem like a true miracle to the baby. And rightfully so, since moments of playing together is miraculous for everyone involved.

Why are toys essential for child development?

Toys are the building blocks of your child's future. Engaging with toys sparks creativity and imagination, paving the way for cognitive and social skills. For toddlers, toys are more than mere amusement—they are tools that help them understand the world. Toddler toys designed for this age group focus on fine motor skill development and sensory exploration. Bright colours, interesting textures, and sounds stimulate their senses, while building blocks challenge their problem-solving skills.

What should I look for in children's toys?

When selecting children's toys, consider their educational value and how they align with your child's interests. Toys should be age-appropriate, safe, and durable. For younger children, look for toys that encourage interaction and physical play. As children grow, their toys should evolve with them. Older children benefit from more complex toys, such as various games or building blocks that foster creativity, strategic thinking and cooperation.

The power of play: encouraging lifelong learning

Toys are a child's first introduction to learning through play. They offer a unique opportunity to develop essential life skills in a safe and controlled environment. By role-playing with plushies or similar toys, children learn empathy and social roles. Colouring books and building blocks allow them to express themselves and develop their artistic talents. The key is to provide a variety of toys that cater to different developmental stages and learning styles.

Choosing the right toys for your children is a delightful journey. Remember that the best toy is one that matches your child's developmental needs and unleashes their potential.
