What is a tog in duvet?
A tog measures a duvet’s warmth the higher the tog, the warmer the duvet, while a lower tog keeps it lighter and cooler.
- Low to medium togs are ideal for warmer months or if you sleep hot
- High togs are perfect for chilly nights
What are the different duvet sizes?
- 110 x 125 cm: Ideal for a cot, toddler bed, or small single bed, giving just enough coverage for a child or compact space.
- Single duvet – 200 x 150 cm: Standard single bed size, perfect for one adult or child for cosy, full coverage.
- Double duvet – 200 x 200 cm: Fits most double beds, offering comfortable coverage for two people.
- King-size duvet – 220 x 240 cm: Larger than a double, giving a luxurious feel with extra overhang for king beds or those who like extra snuggle space.
How to wash a duvet?
Always check the care instructions on your duvet first, as different materials may need different washing methods. Most duvets can be machine washed on a gentle cycle with mild detergent, then thoroughly dried ideally in a large tumble dryer or by air-drying flat. Make sure it’s completely dry before use to prevent dampness or odours, and consider using a duvet cover to keep it cleaner for longer.
