Ratings and reviews

My favourite rug everChristieGorgeous rug that is soft under foot, easy to vacuum and looks great! I have four of these in my home, some in grey and some in the black and white. Love them!5
Great rug, inflated priceLauraI purchased the smaller version of this rug 12 years ago. We use it in our living room and has stood up to a lot of wear and tear! We shampoo it at least once a year and it’s full going strong. I am hugely sad to see how expensive IKEA has gotten. They have taken advantage of the inflation crisis like everyone else and raised their prices through the roof. In 2014 this rug cost $200, and I got mine in the as-is section (display) for $100. Today it costs $400 - doubled in price!4

All time favouriteAnonymous reviewerHad one before for and it was finally time to replace after many years of love and use. Happy to replace it with the same one.5
Beautiful but everything sticks to itIremThis is a beautiful piece except everything sticks to it - if you vacuum everyday and have no pets you should be absolutely fine. It is a large beautiful piece that definitely is a showstopper in any room. I never thought having a simple black/white piece would bring so many compliments. Despite the little pieces of fuzz/hair it catches I would still purchase it.5
Always looks dirtyAnonymous reviewerI was attracted to the design and the fact it’s real wool, but I have to vacuum this rug daily to keep it looking acceptable. Everything sticks to it and it’s difficult to clean. Ive used a carpet shampooer and no luck.3
Good but not greatAnonymous reviewerThis rug is not white and black, it’s cream and black. Like other customer said, it is kind of hard to clean. Still looks great though, just wish it was white in colour not cream. I have it under my dining room table and everyone always compliments it.4
Great lookAnonymous reviewerFound this difficult to clean but love the look.4
Great area rug!Anonymous reviewerPurchased this wool rug 3 months ago and I am very happy with this purchase.4

Form design process

Made using the handloom weaving technique

In a handloom, horizontal strands (the weft), are woven over and under vertical strands (the warp), repeatedly until the rug is complete. Depending on the complexity of the design, producing a rug with this technique can take from a few days up to several weeks. Unlike other techniques, such as hand-tufting, a handloom does not produce a pile, rather it creates an even and flat surface. This technique allows for intricate designs and patterns and the rugs tend to be lightweight yet durable. They are also reversible and easy to clean, making them a practical and popular choice.

Function solution

Wave farewell to flying carpets

STOPP and STOPP FILT anti-slip rug underlays keep your rugs firmly in place, so no one slips on them. Cut the underlays to any size you need. STOPP FILT, which is ⅛" thick, also helps preserve hand-knotted rugs and makes all your rugs feel thicker and softer.

Material

What is wool?

Wool is a practical natural material that usually comes from sheep. The raw wool is washed and then spun into yarn. Wool rugs have many advantages. They're soft, warm and comfortable to walk on, and they're also very hardwearing. They're stain-resistant too, because wool has it own natural oil. This means that dirt stays on the surface and doesn't penetrate into the rug. All wool rugs shed - some more, some less - vacuum them regularly to prevent the loose fibers from scattering.

Quality

Big and easy

On the larger of the two handwoven IKEA STOCKHOLM RAND wool rugs, there's room for a sofa, an armchair and a table. The rugs also hide a worn floor and protect against drafts through the floor. And they're easy to fold up and move - in spite of their size.
