The bench is so long that it can accommodate two people.
The sturdy metal frame reinforces the shape and makes the bench feel neat, despite its large storage space.
The lid is easy to open and is helped by a gas spring, making it convenient when putting things in or taking them out.

Great productMarkI'm using this bench at my entryway. People can use it to sit on while taking shoes off and on. I don't allow shoes in the house. I have it situated next to an IKEA Gullaberg shoe cabinet. It's a better seat than the one I had previously from Wayfair. The Wayfair seat did not have enough cushioning and it was not deep enough (11"). This bench is 16.5" deep. It has storage but I'm not sure what I will use that for. This was a great replacement for the Wayfair bench. It seems like a good value. It's heavy and seems very sturdy. The fabric also seems durable. Very easy assembly.

Very attractive and usefulJohnI LOVE this storage bench. It looks great, it's roomy, and it's super easy to assemble. I gave it only four stars for two reasons: 1) once the hydraulic rod is attached, the lid opens at only about a 45 degree angle. 2) the hinges are annoyingly visible on the outside and are white; if they were black, at least they would blend in with the frame and legs. Not everyone puts this bench flat against a wall. For example, I use mine as an ottoman for a loveseat (VINLIDEN) which means the hinges are visible. Regardless, I would not hesitate to buy this bench again. I have the green one, and hopefully IKEA will come out with additional colors.

Great bench (don’t understand why other reviews were so bad)JoshSuper easy to assemble! Looks great in the living room with our matching sofa and we really enjoy the extra room. You can technically see the hinges but in my opinion it is negligible. The interior storage is big and the hydraulic piece makes for easy open and closing. Honestly not sure why all the reviews were so bad because we enjoy it.
Closing mechanism Anonymous reviewerI clicked the closing mechanism into place upside down, because it wasn't clear from the diagram. Now the lid won't open fully, but I can't get the mechanism off to attach it the other way. Is there anything I can do other than just return the while thing?

Nice looking but has a problemAnonymous reviewerI like the look of the storage bench and the green color is really nice. However, they placed the tags in a highly visible spot on the left side, just below where the lid closes. When you cut them off, the white nubs are still very noticeable. I’m not sure why they didn’t put the tags in a less obvious area, like on the bottom or inside, as most furniture does.
It’s all right NicoleI bought the beige/brown option. It has a very strong odor similar to an IKEA store/new furniture smell/fresh paint. I live in a studio apartment so it’s making the whole place stink. After I sat on it for a bit, the odor is lingering on the clothes I wore. The fabric bunches up in the front, which makes it look a little bit used already. Assembly was straightforward.
