Great Microwave and valueMartin PanduroGreat Microwave and value for your money. Its basic and does what it is suppose to do - heat your food. What more can you ask for and the price is great too.
Love It!MarcySimple. Doesn't annihilate your food. No light so I can leave the door open to vent out. No digital panel which means no clock!! I don't need a microwave to display the time. You can lightly warm a cup of tea, or bake a sweet potato in 4 minutes.
Good not perfectLavonneWe really love this little microwave. It looks so much better on the counter and it meets most of our needs. We can no longer fit two bowls in it at once, but so far everything else we use has fit. My biggest complaint is that when I am working in the kitchen and my fingers are even the slightest bit damp I can't turn the knob to start the microwave. The knob is tight and slippery. It drives me crazy when I am rushing to get a meal ready. The other thing that bugs me is when I put something big or heavier in it the plate and roller very easily slide out of position. Sometimes it causes food to slop all over, and always it is annoying to get it back in place and usable. Our old small microwave didn't have the ability to change the power so we are very happy to have the defrost setting on this one. Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking for a microwave for a small space. We have a household of four, so it is good for more than just dorms.
Inexpensive with basic features.MatthewWorks well at a low price, but is rather noisy and has no incremental settings for less than a minute.
Nice to look at, but mehGabbyBought this microwave as a simple, compact option for a household of 2 and have been using for 7 months. I will say, it is really nice to look at and looks great on a shelf. But my god, probably the worst microwave I've ever owned. It consistently needs about a minute longer than any past microwave of mine to heat things up, and we frequently have to bang and scoot the microwave around so it stops making an insane buzzing sound while in use. I agree with other users that the dial, albeit cute, really limits any kind of precision. 30 seconds doesn't even exist for this microwave. Nice to look at, but hard pass for anyone considering it IMO
Great for blind and elderlyDawndeeWe were so happy to find a microwave for my grandmother who went legally blind last year and can no longer see or feel the buttons on our microwave. Finding red snap-top containers (not at Ikea) and this microwave with knobs has allowed her to independently warm up her own meals again, which has been so good for her mental health.
terrible microwaveIoniedoesnt heat evenly even tho i can see the plate turning. doesnt ring continuously to let you know that it is done heating, it only rings once. It is small for countertop, but not worth the headache. By yourself a better microwave. You cannot be specific about number of seconds less than one minute, and then things get too hot.
Small but Mighty!Anonymous reviewerI'm loving my new IKEA small microwave! Its sleek design, featuring a crisp white body contrasted with a bold black panel, really stands out in my kitchen. The old school dial might take a moment to get used to, but it still gets the job done perfectly.
Turn screw counter-clockwise!AnnaI could not for the life of me figure out how to get the locked microwave open. There are instructions how to turn the screw on the right side, but they are hidden INSIDE the microwave so are useless. Thankfully one reviewer said this "To open the door for the first time, you need to turn a screw like head on the side of the unit 30 degrees counterclockwise." I used a coin and was able to get it turned, but it took a lot of force.
Love Ikea but please put at least that part of the instructions on the outside where it is needed!
Not greatAdinaThis microwaveis is just the right size, however, it is very analog. You set the coking time using a dial, it is impossible to cook something for just a few seconds. If I want 30 seconds, for example, I set the micro for one minute and use my timer. Not very efficient.
Also, when replacing the turntable, after cleaning, it’s very difficult to put it back. I know this sounds silly, but the ring that sits under the turntable jumps around. Takes several tries to put it back.
A great little microwave!AbigailI recently moved into a small apartment in an old house, so the kitchen was designed pre-microwave era. The old microwave was left by the last tenant and took up a solid third of the counter space. I looked into smaller options that would be more compact and landed on this little guy.
I wasn’t sure how the analog controls would be, but for the size and price it seemed worth a try.
I couldn’t be more pleased!! It fits perfectly and best of all, the ding of the timer is infinitely better than a normal microwave beep. I’m the person who stops the microwave with a few seconds left to avoid the noise and this is so pleasant in comparison. I also appreciate how simple it is to adjust the power level. I used to avoid this because on most microwaves you have to hit a million buttons and learn a new code to change the power level. Be ware that this is a 700 w microwave, so it’ll take a bit longer to heat things. On the flip side though, it’s harder to nuke things to a crisp
Missing and necessary instructions.Anonymous reviewerTo open the door for the first time, you need to turn a screw like head on the side of the unit 30 degrees counterclockwise. Sadly IKEA put the instructions for this on the inside of the unit where I could not get to them. So I finally figured out about the screw; but turned it the wrong way. After opening it, I found the instructions. Too late. I broke the screw lock. I like the minimalist design. No glaring, blinking LEDs. No clock to have to reset when the power goes off or the standard time goes to savings time. Looks great. And, of course, at lot of unnecessary and irritating nonsense is required to write this review. Gotta be a member. After filling everything out, it says fill our all the questions marked with an asterisk. I did that.
Cool designMarcoCool minimalist design, very similar to Rams dieters from language. Less is More!
Nice!RoxanneSimple operation, small profile, good price. Just what I was looking for.
Bite sizeJonathanEasy operation and simple aesthetic. Glossy finish, but I think a matte finish would be a success. I have no complaints with the amount that can fit in it or its ability to heat things up. I'm glad I don't have to feel guilty about a glowing 0:00 on the clock, because there isn't one, and I was never going to set it.
Small and does the jobLilianIt's small enough and does rhe job. The outside gets a bit hot, can't remember if that is common in microwaves. Once you get use to the dial it's great.
Very Sleek design and ClassyDipeshBeautiful microwave. I have been using various microwave but this one is truly I felt in love with. Sleek and Classy look. Great for the buck. It changed the look of our kitchen. Very glad with this product and purchase.
Great microwaveNikitaCompact, simple, and sleek; everything I need in a small kitchen. For some reason, most manufacturers make ugly microwaves with features that are rarely, if at all, used. Glad I stumbled into this one. No issues at all so far.
It is what I was looking for and I was glad to find it at your store where I shop. It isn’t perfect. The dish is not as stable as dishes in larger microwaves, but I wanted something smaller.LindaI am glad I purchased it
Had this for over a year and it's great!JordanGreat microwave that looks fantastic and fits small spaces which is exactly what I needed. It does take a little longer to cook things but that's something you learn to live with. Haven't had issues with even cooking.
There's a reviewer that thinks that its mechanism is a safety flaw. That person just has never seen a European microwave or something that's mechanical vs digital. ;)
