    Care

    The best way to extend the life of your wooden outdoor furniture is by cleaning it regularly and not leaving it outdoors unprotected more than necessary.

    Clean: Use a mild soapy solution. Wipe dry with a clean dry cloth.

    Maintenance: To prevent the surface from drying out and cracking, and moisture from penetrating into the wood, we recommend you to re-stain the furniture on a regular basis, for example once or twice a year.

    Storing: If possible, store in a cool dry place indoors. If the furniture is stored outside, cover it with a waterproof cover. After a rain or snowfall, wipe off excess water or snow from flat surfaces. Allow air to circulate to avoid condensation.

    To increase the stability of your furniture, re-tighten the screws at least once per season.

  • WARNING! Prevent tip-over injury or death. Furniture with included restraints must be secured to the wall according to the product’s assembly instructions.

Great bathroom storagePeggyI needed extra storage in my bathroom but I didn't want to mount cabinets to the wall. I had seen this online while browsing and it was featured in a bathroom. I admit my imagination is somewhat limited and that is why I love shopping Ikea. They show different ways to use their products.5

Wood splits easily JacobI have dealt with a lot of acacia. The wood in this product splits particularly easily. I was able to use waterproof wood glue and repair it, but heads up, do not even remotely overtighten anything on this. You are better off using a dab of wood glue where each piece joins, then use the fasteners just to hold it in place while the glue cures. For the money, a little disappointed, even though it is aesthetically great.2

Very convenient pieceMorganI would have liked it to be a bit longer so it fills the double window in my apartment building. Having said that, I love this piece. I used it as a potting stand with a basin on the shelf to catch dirt and that worked wonderfully. Now it has plants on top, empty pots on the shelf, and I keep my extra soil and fertilizer hidden behind the doors. It really checked a lot of boxes for me. I would recommend having a drill or automatic screwdriver handy as some of these were a beast to get in. It would also be nice if there were just 2-3 words on the directions like, "DON'T screw this in all the way yet" but hey, you live and learn. This doesn't get rained on much so I can't say how it would hold up. 4

Between screws stripping, pieces not fitting together and the annoyance of the doors fitting crooked - it’s a miss for me. Why not return it? I’m a millennial who already built it and bringing it back to the store assembled would cause more work than just dealing with it. 1
difficult to assembleTiffanyI really wanted this piece for outdoors and while the look and size is exactly what I wanted, this had to be the most difficult piece of IKEA furniture I have ever assembled. Something about the hardness of the material and the screws not lining up quite right made it so incredibly difficult to screw the many many pieces in. 4

Perfect Coffee Bar on the PatioKarlCompletely made of wood, the shelf is significantly more sturdy than it appears. We use this shelf as a coffee bar on the patio. Supplies are kept in a plastic bin behind the doors out of sight. The coffee maker sits on top making a second cup easy. Friends and guests marvel at the usage.5

They were not difficult to assemble; and they blend in perfectly with the mid century knotty pine paneling of my cabin. I added pads to the tops, and my cats love them! Nice and functional but final assembly steps near impossibleKristinFirstly, I've assembled many Ikea pieces and they've all been super easy to finish. This has been the first exception. There are multiple L-shaped braces that are partially attached and then at the end tightened into place. The problem is that once the two pieces are connected, the screw is so closed in space that it's basically impossible to insert the hex wrench to twist/rotate and fully tighten. It kept slipping out. One larger screw to attach the top panel to the back panel did not tighten - the interior predrilled hole was already stripped and I couldn't get the screw to weave in (plus the aforementioned issue of space). Not the best design from an assembly perspective.3

This was easy to put together (less than an hour) and looks great in our outdoor space. We use it to store out door furniture covers but would make a hand plant stand as well. Much better looking than some out the outdoor deck boxes I have seen.

Sometimes it’s good to be square

When we developed NÄMMARÖ, we asked ourselves: what’s the best way to create really comfy and affordable outdoor furniture? We found one answer to the question in the design. By basing the whole series on a simple geometric shape, we managed to lower the manufacturing cost. That’s good news for your wallet.

“We want NÄMMARÖ to be easy to both take home and live with,” says product developer Anders Adler. He and the development team found a part of the solution in a simple geometric shape – the square.

One look, many possibilities

“We designed a frame that looks like a square with small legs,” explains Anders. It’s a shape that’s used throughout the series, from chairs to tables. “The frame gives NÄMMARÖ a uniform and contemporary look. It’s also modular thinking that simplifies the production and lowers the cost. And since NÄMMARÖ doesn’t have any curved shapes, the products are easy to pack in flat packages.” It contributes to a lower price and saves valuable space during transport – all the way from the factory to the customer’s home.

Create your own oasis

In the NÄMMARÖ family, you find sun loungers and chairs for long and lazy days, sofas for many guests and tables for intimate dinners or big families. “It’s about finding what suits you and your needs. NÄMMARÖ creates possibilities – for both different outdoor spaces and wallets.” The furniture is relatively light, so you can easily move it if you need to make room for more guests or stow everything away when the outdoor season is over. “It’s one of those small but important things that makes the everyday life on your terrace or balcony more convenient,” says Anders.
