Owned for 13 years and 2 moves.AdamI don't think they are poor quality at all if they are the same as they were 13 years ago. They aren't crazy heavy so it made moving 2x super easy. I think you can hold like 50lbs per square or something like that? I have all my household power tools, bits, hammers, screwdrivers and nails in 1 box that's made to fit in 1 of the squares. I put the heaviest things at the bottom. The only thing wrong with them is the scratches from sliding them around, but you can find a color to pain match and touch it up easily. Easy to clean with everyday cleaning products. I put these led lights in the top of empty squares with some gorilla tape and it gives it a cool fish tank vibe.

Easy assembly but poor quality AlisaThis was extremely easy to put together. With that being said, the quality is very poor for IKEA. I have purchased several pieces of furniture from IKEA that have all been very heavy and durable and these are EXTREMELY light and the color is worn off in multiple spots of it. I’m not near an IKEA store and had this item delivered so I can’t just pack it up and return it or I probably would. Pretty disappointed in this one.
Easy to assembleShanaI used a drill instead of the Allen wrench provided. I assembled the shelf in roughly 30 minutes. It is ideal for the organization I desired. I used the IKEA storage bins for inserts.

Worst Ikea Product I Have Ever PurchasedMaxwellUnbelievably terrible quality. Panels are as light and flimsy as styrofoam. All connections are ill-fitting wooden dowels that crumble with any force at all. On top of that, you have to drill FOUR of your own holes just to attach the desk. I would buy literally ANY desk/shelf combination over this one. Don't make the same mistake I did! I can't believe how cheap and lazy Ikea has gotten.

Significant Deterioration of Ikea Quality SuI built quite a few Ikea cube shelving units several years ago to line the walls of our record collection room. In the past, materials were meant to last, even with the heavy weight of records. The fiberboard interiors of all pieces was dense, the dowels strong and not subject to snapping, and the laminate thick and securely applied.
I expected the same with this purchase. Instead, I found that the particle board was little better than cardboard, the laminate thin, subject to lifting and marring, and the dowels soft and flimsy. What should have been a quick assembly was complicated by the necessity of digging out dowels that failed. The laminate distorted on a couple of pieces during routine assembly of the parts. After the unit was completed, I found that the thin laminate with its poor surface is subject to marking and scratching during something as routine as inserting or removing LP albums.
Ikea, you should be able to do better than this.
IslandBerlandaOur kitchen is small with little to no counter space. I got this to use as an island. It works perfectly I added a wooden base and some wheels in order to move it around. It was so quick and easy to assemble. I will definitely be purchasing more.

I love these!AnneI bought 4 of these cubbies in glossy white. One is placed horizontally with a large tv on top and two vertically on either side to create a lovely, inexpensive entertainment center…although I’m mainly using the alternating open cubbies as bookshelves and have fabric bins in the other cubbies for hidden storage of all kind of miscellaneous items. The 4th cubby is across the room horizontally with the same setup. I think they look great!
