Oven gloves and mitts are hardworking kitchen must-haves for cooks of all levels. Always be sure to use gloves for the oven whenever you’re removing anything hot from the oven or cooktop.
Lift lids with ease with pot holders
Pot holders are a popular kitchen essential as well, sharing many of the same tasks as oven mitts. Unlike oven gloves and mitts, pot holders don’t typically fit fully over the hand, though some have a pocket you can slide your hand into for a better hold.
Flexible pot holders can be used for wrapping around lids and handles, or the edge of a baking sheet you’re pulling from the oven. They give you a better grip while protecting your skin from the hot ovenware.
Pot holders are also sometimes used as trivets to protect surfaces. This may be fine if your cooking pot bottom isn’t too hot - or your countertop or dining table surface isn’t too delicate - but we recommend using designated trivets when possible to minimize the risk of damage.
