The safety feature means that the chest of drawers must be anchored to the wall in order to open more than one drawer at a time, which creates a safer environment at home.
By anchoring the chest of drawer to the wall, you unlock the safety feature and can open all the drawers simultaneously when needed.

This is hands-down, the absolute worst piece of furniture I have ever purchased for IKEA! The construction is completely flawed. The instructions lack several key details. I am so angry at how awful this turned out, and now I have to disassemble what I can gather up all of the pieces load them into my car and take them all the way back to the store to get a refund!! I don’t believe I will ever purchase anything from IKEA again after this horrendous experience. And I’ve always loved the furniture I’ve bought and assembled.
Good product, tough to buildHannahThe quality is quite nice, but this was not an easy one to assemble. Instructional drawings need more details and clarity.
Nightmare but I have to say everyone that works at Ikea that picks up the phones for customers support are always niceLisaThis dresser made me cry I’ve never had that happen from a purchase before. First off the top had a dent when we opened it. Being it was in the top back and we bought glass, I figured it would be fine.
The instructions are an absolute nightmare. The instructions it comes with are completely different than the ones online now. You can’t see on the included instructions any detail so it’s impossible and you have to guess and if it’s wrong take it apart. It’s cheap particle board and was making wood splinters all over the floor when it’s moved around. My dog got splinters. The particle board just crumbles apart when moved or trying to insert pieces that belong w it. I’m so upset and can’t wait for it to be picked up and out of here. Arrggh Ikea was out of the hemnes bedroom dresser for so long. That’s why we tried this one. Big mistake. Our previous one was great, the hemmes dresser and armoire they lasted over 10 years.
When I’m over this stressful situation, I’ll order the one again
Worst assembly BenjaminLooks nice but it was the worst assembly experience. Took 2 people about 5 hours. 1 piece came wrong and we had to drill our own holes. Ended up with 2 uneven drawers but took way too much time to try and redo. Needs way better directions.
Love this dresserKatieThis dresser is perfect. Two of us put it together in about 3 hours. Assembly was as expected for IKEA furniture. You will need a hammer & mallet. Would highly recommend.

Great looking dresser - medium level assembly Jacobdresser looks great once out tighter, very sturdy, crisp and clean lines. Medium level difficulty, but not too bad at all. Per other reviews, yes lots of pieces but huge dresser so what else to expect. Overall good experience putting together and very pleased with how it looks once complete.
Instructions need much improvementPamelaI found the instructions lacking in detail. The instructions in the very beginning, where you attach the "floor" of the dresser didn't show details of the orientation of the piece. I was left to guess and look forward into the instructions to try to figure it out. I still put it together wrong. It makes a huge difference. Had to take it apart and put it back together 3 times before I got the top on correctly, because other pieces weren't right. I've put together many, many IKEA pieces and have never had this kind of trouble. I've put together much more complicated pieces of furniture than this and had no difficulty. It's great now that it is together. Just please improve the instructions to show the appropriate detail.
Also there is a crack in the back piece in one of the large drawers. The part that holds the bottom. It should be fine, I just won't plan to put anything heavy in that drawer.
I love it CarinaI recently purchased this dresser on the whim. Due to being so new it was it wasn’t displayed at the location in Brooklyn and I was very much interested in an affordable 8 drawers chest. When I came in on 4th of July it was even less of the of price at 289.99. I picked up INSTANTLY. It was assembled and it came out beautiful! It’s definitely a great buy and I would highly recommend it. It’s very spacious and very sturdy. It’s very high up and the drawers are perfect.
A LOT of parts but great dresserCrystalGreat, functional dresser. 8 nice sized drawers in a classic style & color. 5 stars except for assembly. Biggest con: There are NEW versions of the instructions (by a year) correcting some major errors/inefficiencies of assembly. We didn't find that out until we were stuck on step 12. Would have appreciated if Ikea had emailed us the new directions when we purchased it. We wasted time puzzling out the step & connecting w/ support before getting the new instructions. Also, some earlier steps were revised & we missed out on improvements that would've simplified assembly. There's also a step where you must push down the sides of the drawers to sit in a keyhole. I'm not sure how that's done without a mallet. Another step shows you needing a hammer that was easily done by hand. This was not the hardest thing I've put together, and the pieces mostly fit together well. But it's a lot of steps and having two people helps imo. Still, great dresser considering price & quality, and a good buy.
DO NOT BUYIsaiahProbably one of the worst assembly experiences ever.Instructions are very very vague and there’s hundreds of pieces.Also it tilts so you have to drill it to your wall so be prepared to do that. Don’t buy. 0 stars if I could rate it
Nice piece but struggled to assemble DavidI have assembled many pieces of furniture. Sure, many of those pieces took hours to
assemble but the instructions for this dresser was one (if not the worst) instructions I ever had to follow. Most pages contained few words and terrible quality ambiguous sketches. I am so turned off by this experience that I may never purchase another IKEA product again. Shipping to my home was on the day and time as expected.
Bad assembly EmilyIt doesn’t have a good instruction. It is very hard to assemble the dresser. Also, the bolts and screws are not divided and hard to find which one.
