Loses feathersRachaelThis duvet loses feathers and they are everywhere anytime I take it out of the duvet cover to wash it. I feel like for the price this shouldn't be happening. Soon I'm afraid it will be flat!
One comforter excellent, other sheda horriblySarahWe have purchased two of these comforters over two years. One has held up wonderfully, like all of my previous ikea down comforters that are still in use after many years, but the other sheda dust and feathers horribly. Even with a duvet cover my son's bedroom floor looks like someone ripped open a down pillow and when washed, the comforter fills the line trap with feathers. It seems to be a quality control issue, as my daughter's version does not have the same level of shedding. My recommendation - purchase and if there is substantial feather leakage return asap. We waited too long.
Great value and qualityJenniferThis is a very good price for a duvet. I don't have a lot of budget to work with, so I was happy to pay this price. I love the duvets instead of comforters as I am in a small home and like to change the covers and not have to store multiple comforters.
LOVE - now own multipleSarahI love my duvet insert. I first bought a twin 4 years ago in store. I wanted the perfect fluff so I went in the store, closed my eyes, and just felt the ones on display. I loved the FJÄLLARNIKA the best. 3 years later, I needed a full/queen duvet insert and bought the exact same one, just larger. I've had it for a year now and am still so happy. $59 for a queen sized duvet insert? That's a steal for the quality of this duvet.

Needs Corner TiesAnnaHas no loops or ties to secure it to a duvet cover. I wake up with the duvet all crumpled at one end. I don’t recommend it unless you plan to sew on your own corner loops.
Love it!JohnIt can get pretty chilly on winter nights with no central (or other) heat - this duvet keeps me toasty warm. Sometimes, I even have to stick my feet out as it gets too warm!
As to odor - I aired mine out on no-heat in the dryer prior to use, no smell. It is a bit noisy when I toss and turn at night but is really comfortable.
I definitely recommend this (I bought twin size - plenty big for an adult) - no regrets, especially when paired with my Ikea feather pillow. :)

Too small for queen duvet coverFalguniThis duvet says full/queen but when you put a queen duvet cover over it, it’s too small and the duvet doesn’t fully fill the cover.
Does not stink.ErikI don't understand why people are complaining. The outer shell has high (252) thread count 100% cotton and is very smooth like hotel bedding. The duck feather and down fill does not stink at all. I don't know why people would want to wash it right away and damage the feathers. Down alternative is just polyester and that does not breathe at all! This blanket is very warm and comfortable to the touch and it BREATHES! I don't know any place that sells this quality of materials and construction at this price. They must have the lockdown on the supply to offer such a value. I bought mine on clearance (a person returned it) and got it for 50% off and an additional 15% off due to the current savings event and I am so pumped. I drive almost an hour to get to the store and I love to see what they have marked down or things in clearance like this duvet.

Was thinking maybe they ordered from online and that’s why it probably had a smell because it was sitting in a warehouse somewhere. so I went to an actual IKEA and got one there. I see what they are talking about when it comes to the smell, when I wash it I didn’t have a problem it smelled good. The smell came from when I dried it. I can kind of smell with her talking about. I threw a lot of dryer sheets in with mine, and I actually had to take it to the laundromat to dry it because for some reason it was not drying in my brand new dryer I tried to hang it out to dry, but that didn’t really work either because it’s winter! Definitely something you can only wash a couple times a year and only wash the cover. If you really don’t wanna deal with the smell that you took a long time trying to get out! The feathers took forever to dry! Dry time sucks!
IT STINKSJenifferit literally smells like farm animal freshly opened from the bag. I just opened out of the bag , thinking I’ll use it straight away when the comforter already stank so I decided to wash it and the smells got so much worse. Please read reviews , as I regret not reading beforehand.

How to care for your down/feather duvet
With a little care, you can prolong the life of your down/feather duvet and keep it fresh. The filling has a natural smell which can be reduced by airing or washing. Wash the duvet separately with a mild detergent (1/3 of the normal amount) on delicate cycle at 60°C. Avoid bleach/fabric softeners. Tumble dry immediately on low heat. A dryer ball or a high-quality tennis ball in the dryer will ensure more efficient drying. Air your duvet regularly, if possible, in direct sunlight.
