Product details

It’s quick and easy to change the size of the table to suit your different needs. With 1 extension leave that you can store within easy reach under the table top, you can extend the table so there is room for 8 people.

The smart design means that the table top has no seams when you use the table without extending it.

Designed for a perfect match with EKEDALEN chairs. LIDÅS, KRYLBO and BERGMUND chairs are also good matches with different style expressions.

The table legs are always in the corners of the table top even when the table is extended, so there is plenty of room for chairs under the table.

This table has been tested against our strictest standards for stability, durability and safety to withstand everyday use in your home for years.

Great Table for WorkshopsHeatherLove this clean white design. It took me a little over 5 hours to put together, but I did it alone - 2 people should be able to put it together much easier.5
TableLylaLove it! My sons put it together and said it was easy.5
Appears sturdy yet sleek and modern. Well designed and is a great fit for any sized room.Shammythe table is well designed. it is sleek yet substantial. clean lines and modern. I had my last Ikea table for almost thirty years and this one appears to be much better made!! 5
Great tableAnnAssembly took a bit, but not difficult. Not many tricky sections, but it will go smooth if you pay attention. I got the larger version of the Ekedalen and it fits my space perfectly. Extending the table is really easy and smooth, made even easier if you have hardwood floors and add in the felt foot padding to help it slide instead. You can even extend it while it is in use that way. I just wish there was a natural wood version of this table rather than just black/white. I haven't had it for very long so I am not sure how it will hold up after some time, but so far so good.5
Functional!StacyThe table is functional, looks nice, and works well for our family! 5
Unexpected great purchase! LydiaHosting my family for Thanksgiving and thought this was perfect because it expands from 6-8 id I have last minute guests which I did! The table was easy to built ( for me) because I took my time putting it together and it looks amazing in my space. Overall great last minute purchase and bonus I got it on sale! Highly recommend! 5
Great extendable simple tableNicoleIt's a great simple table that extends and even not extended can fit 8 chairs around it 5
Great tableKathleenWe are thrilled to have an expandable table. This fits our dining room perfectly5
Almost Perfect -and Impressive!LisaGot this table to use as a huge desk for office / dining room space. It took quite awhile to put together. It looks awesome. But some of the corner legs aren’t square—some sit flush but some don’t. We also needed a drill to get some of the screws in because they were too hard to hand tighten. All said. It’s a lovely Huge table which we are using fully extended. And other tables this size cost $1000 so this was very reasonable. Also was easier to move being flat packed. (( condo //elevator)). But upon second move we will be moving as a put together so that will be harder. As always ikea is a great solution and looks expensive.4
as expectedAshleyworks perfect for our small breakroom5

best cost x benefitRenata S.looks and material very good, easy to assemble and fits the whole family and more friends, I loved my purchase5
Great deal!EliI really like this table. I was surprisingly impressed with the high quality. It is very sturdy and seems to be built very well. It expands and has a space in the table to keep the extra leaf when you’re not using it. It’s a pretty cool piece! If you’re not the handy type. I would recommend hiring someone to put together.5
The worst table ever sold by IkeaHosseinThis table is so terrible that one of the legs broke just three days after assembly.1

What is veneer?

A veneer is a thin wooden sheet attached to things like particleboard to add a durable surface and a natural wood look – so we enjoy the many benefits of wood without using solid wood. The most common veneer types are birch, ash, oak, and beech, and we’ve made a special UV lacquer that helps preserve the wood's natural structure. A benefit with a slightly thicker veneer is how you can repair and sand the surface if it’s damaged to give furniture a longer and more beautiful life.

Designer thoughts

“For me, the dining area is the given center of the home. My idea with EKEDALEN series was to make a dining set for everything from large dinners to doing homework and crafts. The table is easy to extend, and since the legs follow the table when it’s extended, guests won’t have table legs in the way. The chairs are comfortable and the covers are machine-washable. And you can squeeze together on the bench to make room for everyone. Flexible and functional for modern homes.”
