Alex drawerEdithIt’s exactly what I needed for my home office
One of the better IKEA piecesBethThis is a classic for a reason. It swallows up a lot of stuff and is pretty inconspicuous under a desktop. I find the builds pretty easy, though IMO there is always one drawer, no matter how hard I try to tighten the screws, that sticks a little. But mostly it works well. I bought one of the felt inserts and based on how well it organizes the space, I'll eventually add a few more.
I love these alexRuthI have three Alex and just ordered two more and ordered the wheels. I just love having the wheels now I can move my room around and not have to call for help
Shelf’s were not made correctlyMaraIn the picture it clearly shows that there is 2 small ones at the top and 3 large ones at the bottom. But for mine it was weird because either 1 didn’t fit or they overlapped while trying to put them together. Not sure why this had happened to mine but i’m so disappointed.

Wrong SizesCooperI got this for my gaming room and i built it by myself and i followed every step, step by step and the drawers are to big so i half to make it only with 4 drawers in and leave a the 2nd smaller one out now it looks all disportation i tried to see if there is any way i can fix it but i couldnt find one this is a real bummer

Functional, classic piece with lots of storageBethI've owned this before in white. Purchased two in black/brown to go under a desktop. While they are heavy, and sort of scream "IKEA", you can't beat the functionality and the hidden storage makes the workspace area look so much less cluttered. I find assembly went better when I watched a video prior to using the booklet, even though some of the hardware and instructions have changed slightly since the video.

great drawersDiegofew years ago got these for my sons room with larger lagkapten and now they no longer have them lucky i have an old trotten desk so i put it on top of these drawers and looks great!
Atrocious quality materials and poor precisionAidanI bought this because the reviews were very good but the materials, cuts and fit are unbelievably low quality. The pull / push is not smooth (no wheels or bearings) and the cuts were too sloppy for the fittings to be precise. Multiple holes were drilled too wide for the screw to bite properly so the rails are just loose. I've previously replaced entire kitchens, toilets and framed my own closets so I don't think I'm completely un-handy. Some of the corners were also damaged while in transit. I know IKEA will say "we are sorry, you can get a replacement" but it's a little late for that when it's all put together and we live an hour away.
Beautiful drawer setJaneseBeautiful and will house my painting supplies. Bought 2 with the long table top on top. Looks great and will make a nice craft/painting/seeing area.
Good inexpensive drawers, cheap hardwareJasenI got these for under my desk. Assembly was easy and the drawer slides came already preinstalled which made things easier. That said, it's obvious that the slides are super cheap. One of my slides, the top one that gets used the most, vibrates as you open/close the drawer and it's extremely annoying. Definitely not the QC I was expecting here. The instructions don't list the part number so you can't easily just order another one and standard drawer slides won't fit. I was planning on putting one of these on the other side of my desk but I'll likely go with something else and get rid of this one in the long run. Otherwise, it works well.
Really bad assembly instructions and plastic non reusable screws (#119251)ReinierThe installation instructions are horrible, it tries to combine assembly instructions for 3 different versions of the Alex Desk (no wheels, with wheels, and with legs) into one instruction booklet and confuses people.
The illustration on page 8 and 9 caused me to get confused because it doesnt have any written text and it shows multiple ways to put the top and bottom panel so the first time that I assembled the Alex after I had everything already assembled and I tried to insert the drawers I noticed that the drawers didnt fit correctly (it turns out that I assembled it upside down and the drawers would only fit while they were upside down) so I had to dissemble the top and bottom panels (removing the non reusable plastic screws #119251) and finally the drawers all fit in correctly but then I noticed that I had left over screws (#110907) and none of the pages in the instructions booklet show those screws until page 21 but in page 10 it shows something else for that panel.
Piece of JunkStefAlex side panels both came in with smashed corners and unfortunately I need it to support the other end of my desk. Quality has gone down significantly. And I'd have to drive it back an hour to exchange it. I could have bought second hand in better condition.
