Great bed!HelenNeeded a nice bed for the in-laws. This bed was better than expected. The quality surpassed my expectations and cost. Well done Ikea!5
no more furniture from ikeamahpara q.have purchased furniture from Ikea many times before. Quality seems to be going down. Assembly is a chore. Screws and nuts do not fit as well as they used to. Have to do our own improvisation to make sure the furniture holds. other products at ikea maybe okay but not furniture2
Me likey!JoeThe bed frame is stylish & very functional. Greta combo! The drawers help replace an old MALM 6-drawer dresser tat would not fit in my tiny bedroom. The BRIMNES draws are so easy to glide out, even when loaded & sitting on a rug. Someone had their good design cap when they figured out the right bottom drawer height to clear carpet. Awesome! My only gripe is: you should round the pointed edges on the drawer handle edges. In tight quarters I'm always being poked or scratched by them. This seems minor, but is important for the sake of detail & safety. Beyond that ... me likey ... a lot!5
Best space saving bedDIGNAI am a ikea everything, so building the bed was not confusing to me but if you never built anything from IKEA then you might need some help or I advise you to look up the item you are about to build in U2 and watch someone else build it first before you even try. The best thing about this bed is the four drawers underneath they are very deep very wide and hold all my clothes into drawers are use the other one for my blankets and bedsheets and another one to store my shoes. I love how it can easily be move side to side softly and easily. The only thing I would say that is you’re going to buy this bad you have to understand that you need extra room in your room to be able to open the drawers underneath to get your items out unless you’re using the drawers for items that you may not all need every day and maybe you just going to store stuff that it’s needed once in a year. I got this so that my small room don’t feel like is overcrowded with just a whole bunch of dressers. The drawers close smoothly and my mattress feels much bigger in this bed. It is a little lower than most bad but not too low that you feel like you’re on the floor. You definitely need two people to build this bed. You do not need a box spring for this bed.5
NiceRENEEasy way to assemble5
LoveShreya P.I loved this bedframe! There is a TON of storage underneath and I was able to put so much under my bed which was huge. It looks nice and is very high. Few downsides/things to be aware of is that you do need quite a bit of space on either side of the bed to have room to open the drawers. Because of the drawers, you have to get creative with bedside tables. I installed wall units and it worked perfectly. It is also VERY heavy, once you place it, it is very difficult to move around your room. It also doesn't fit through doorways when assembled, so keep the instructions because it will need to be dismantled and reassembled when moving. Would highly recommend if you're not planning on moving somewhere for awhile!5
Full Size Storage bedTamIn the beginning I was hesitant about getting this bed due the reviews regarding the slacks, and the noise the bed makes when getting in and out of bed. So far I haven’t had those issues. It’s sturdy. The drawers are spacious, and the setup is exactly picture perfect.5
Nice!DeanaNice storage bed! Our daughter loves it! Just have to be patient and set aside the time to assemble.5

Easy to assemble & very handsome!KathleenLooks great in the bedroom. Drawers are roomy to store my stuff.5
This is the quality I’ve come to expect from IKEA.EdwardThank you for the nice and easy furniture project, I would like it if the instructions were easier to find, but aside from that wonderful!5
It took awhile for thisKellieIt took awhile for this bed to finally come in. BUT we love it!5
A lot of storage in a small footprintREBEKAHI bought this for a new larger mattress (upgraded from full to queen) and am very happy with it so far. The drawers are much larger than I need, but that's not a bad thing. I only really wanted to store sheet sets and blankets in the drawers, but if you have a small room they could definitely be used for clothing in lieu of a chest of drawers. I have sheets and blankets in one, miscellaneous stuff in one, shoes in another, and one is currently completely empty. All of them that are in use still have room to spare as well. It's not a quick project, so be aware of that. It took me a few hours to assemble with help. However, it is a very sturdy bed. The extra time it took me to assemble it, plus the Lonset bed base, was worth it in the end because I don't feel like it's going to be something I need to replace in a few years. In fact, it's so sturdy once assembled that I kind of doubt I ever will try to disassemble it to move it anywhere else. It's staying in the room it's in and will be included with the house when it's sold years from now. I give it 5-stars in every area except ease of assembly. But it makes up for it in perceived durability.5
Love this BedFetnehThis is the 3rd Brimnes bed I've purchased. Have a king in our master bedroom, the rollout twin to king in our guest room, and now a full size in my kids room. This bed is easy to put together and saves a lot of space with the drawers. I choose the Lonset slates this time and was very impressed. They are a lot more sturdy than the Luroy.5
WorksJuan S.It’s a little too firm at the beginning, after a couple days it gets more soft4
Tough assemblyKRYSTENNot the easiest assemble but it all came Together. It looks good and the storage is very roomy5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill waste – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a valuable resource instead of being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look. The day your sofa or bed needs replacing, the material in the particleboard can be recycled into something entirely new.

Designer thoughts

"Living in a small space often presents big demands for smart storage. That’s what we wanted to solve by creating BRIMNES – a series of functional bedroom furniture with storage in every piece and at a low price. We made the bed frame with generous drawers and the headboard with room for books, magazine files and holes for cables. The wardrobe was given adjustable shelves so that you can maximize your storage. We hope you will enjoy living with this furniture in your home for a long time – regardless of whether you combine them or use them as individual pieces."
