Would be Perfect if Not for 1 Major FlawJessicaIkea's directions really are bad so do urself a favor & find a YouTube video instead, only use the ones it comes with to double check things since there are many different versions of this. I would have never been able to assemble this otherwise & bcuz the slight variations of this exact dresser even with the video it still took forever to assemble. If your terrible at assembling furniture or don't want to waste a few hours–all day just pay someone to do, it's worth it if you can afford it!
IMPORTANT Part- I really like this except for 1 major thing, the drawers barely come half way out. I looked at the measurements before buying so I knew they wouldn't come out very far but I swear they barely come out half way! What's the point of having such big deep drawers if they barely open! Also it's worth noting the inside of the drawers are GREY, they are nice but it doesn't indicate this anywhere.
If I bought this again I'd get my own drawer tracks then it'd be perfect so 3/5 considering.3
really like this does take some timeLoriThere are a lot of moving parts to line up perfectly so it is hard to do by oneself, it did take a few hours to put together but it does look great and is very sturdy. Not sure if I am keen on the fogged glass of the first drawer.5

BRIMNES 4-Drawer Chest - Drawer Rail Design ConcernBlancaI purchased two BRIMNES 4-drawer chests from IKEA, and I’ve noticed a difference between them that is causing a problem. Both items are supposed to be the same model, but in the newer one, the drawer rails seem to be different. Specifically, the rails are shorter, which prevents the drawers from sliding out fully. This makes it very difficult to access my clothes.
I’m unsure if this is a design change or a possible defect. If this is part of a new design, I would like to understand the reasoning, as the reduced functionality is frustrating. If it is not intentional, I would appreciate assistance in getting the correct rails so my drawers can function like the first set I purchased.1
1st time ever I’ve been Extremely disappointed LorinI love IKEA and was excited to get 2 of these dressers. All of my past purchases have been great but not these. The drawers barely go half way out and make the dressers irritating and not easily usable. Extremely disappointing. It’s a new feature/design and obvious done as a safety feature but makes the dresser a complete pain to use. A friend purchased the same dresser a year ago and those drawers go all the way out. Consider this dresser only for big items like towel, sheets and sweaters and maybe you’ll be fine but if you’re putting regular clothes in them good luck reaching any items towards the back of the drawer. Worst design ever. I actually hate leaving bad reviews and almost never do it but this item is now soooo bad and people need to know this before they spend hours putting it together. Not the same gray as before, not the same drawers guides eitherJessicaWe purchased the whole Brimnes set in in gray in 2021, and absolutely love it. By the time we realized we wanted another dresser, that specific gray was discontinued. Last weekend we made a trip to Texas and stopped by IKEA, and saw that the gray was back. We were pretty sure at the time the new gray is different than the old - and it is. It’s considerably lighter. I just want to mention that incase there’s someone like us and wanting to add to your existing set.
Now, like everyone else has said, the drawers only open half way. My dark gray set opens all the way, so when we saw the display with the half-open drawers we assumed it was the display model. I can’t believe someone designed these drawers to only open half way. After we got the first drawer in and realized we had a problem, we picked up 4 sets of 16” soft close guides at HD. They are the same style as what comes with, but have a soft close mechanism attached. Another $50 to the cost, but at least they open fully now.

Drawers Only Half OpenBenClean look. Decent size. Solid construction. Outside of that the functionality is completely NERFED by the half sized drawer slides. I can barely get my things in and out of these things because they only open just enough for my big hands to barely fit inside. Who's brilliant idea was it? You saved 5 cents a unit going with smaller slides? What a boneheaded move Ikea. Offer these with half and full length slides as options and maybe I'll accept the cost cutting. I WOULD PAY MORE TO BE ABLE TO OPENA DRAWER!2

I do still like this one for the deep drawers, however you cannot open them all the way nor easily access and see what’s in the back half of the drawer without pulling the clothes out . That is a major problem in my opinion. It definitely takes away from the functionality which is unfortunate. 3

They were very easy to assemble, even for a middle age woman, like myself.

Barely opens, difficult to use day to day.RobynIt's strange how other drawers get bad reviews for only opening halfway, but this one does too, and they aren't very long drawers either. They are deep though, which is good for storing, but expect to do a lot of flipping through layers of clothes inside a half open drawer. Wish there was more room to open this thing.2
