What is a duvet cover?

Duvet covers are a type of bedding specifically designed to cover and protect duvet inserts, which are commonly referred to simply as duvets. Duvets are similar to comforters in design and function, and are also sold in the same popular sizes, materials, fills and weights. The primary difference between comforters and duvets is that duvets are designed to be used with a protective, removable duvet cover, while a comforter is typically an all-in-one design without a removable cover.
