It’s OKColt46This desk is perfect if you are a minimalist who doesn’t use a lot of desk space. But I have a desktop, a 16” laptop, an iPad, a HomePod, and other things that I use daily for work and I have no space to do breathe. Wishing I got a larger desk or atleast one without the corner.3
Beautiful graceful design and very solidDavidH17This desk is very satisfyingly solid with high quality, heavy legs. The frame supporting the table top allows for no flexing. The top's graceful design sweeps to the left of the user while keeping everything within reach. IKEA once again has earned my loyalty. Thank you!5
Home office winClem2020Needed a small corner desk to work from home and this was perfect. Online stores had reviews of shipping damage and difficult returns, so finally just made the trek to the store and was pleased to find a good stock selection, grabbed the desk and zipped home to assemble. Putting together was easy enough, If you have cats they might find the mesh cord holder delicious, so secure it well! Took off one star for trying to make sure the legs were parallel to the desk, because how? Just eye-balled it and looks fine.4
Great Sewing TableHappySewerI purchased the Bekant corner desk a month ago to use as a sewing table. It works great for that purpose and the corner gives me a space to iron while creating quilt blocks. I was looking for an adjustable height desk that would allow me to lower the top to a comfortable height to sew. It was easy to put together by myself as the metal frame that holds the desk top only has two pieces to be joined together. My only wish would be that it could be adjustable using a handle/crank system like the Skarsta. Great value!5
Short people, listen upAnotherWorkFromHomerI needed a desk that could go down, not up. Most desks are made for giants (I'm 5'2) and give me so much shoulder/back back from poor posture. At the absolute lowest height for this desk, I can actually sit with my feet touching the ground and my arms resting at a 90 degree angle. If you're shorter you might need a tiny boost under your feet but this is as good as it gets for a low desk. Assembly was a breeze, honestly, and I did it alone. Happiest desk purchase in years.5
Not that sturdy for those with monitor armsNotyouravgconsumerPeople rave about this desk and how sturdy it is. And I agree it is sturdy if you don't plan on mounting the PC monitor with arms. I have it mounted and the monitor shakes very easily (i.e. even when I am typing, I can see it shake a little). If you rock the desk a bit, it shakes a lot. For the money I paid just for the legs, I thought would've been more sturdy. I haven't had this problem with my previous desks. In the end, this is a decent desk. I guess physics come into play here. You can't have super sturdy desk with two legs instead of four.3
Sturdy and fits in desired corner!KayTeaS.O. needed a sturdier desk than the IKEA corner table he'd gotten free from a chum. (It truly died!) This's a much more solid computer desk for an avid streamer/MMORPG gamer!5
perfect for sewing!trish52I bought this table + a set of drawers for my sewing room. Love both of them!5
very sturdy and ideal1 Great RetireeWaited for a few days till the blue top became available again. Happy I did, because it does look great in my home office. Was relatively easy to set up and instructions were straight forward. Can set up for sitting or stand up position. Easy to adjust to keep table top level if floor is uneven. Excellent.5

Don"t let 4 stars turn you away!Rip_M**In regards to the title, don't let my 4 star rating make you believe this desk isn't amazing. I reserve 5 stars for a product that has literally no flaws (or the flaw is so insurmountable it doesn't effect anything), as I believe that's what a 100% rating means.** I've made sure to use this desk for 3 months before writing this review as to make sure everything I am telling you is in confidence. I'll start with assembly. Assembling the metal frame that makes up the structure of the desk was very easy, sliding the metal together and screwing in some bolts where needed took no longer than 20 minutes. The instructions require you to flip the frame a couple times which can be difficult because of its size so I suggest having a helping hand. Connecting the table top to the frame is also very easy, hammering in several sort-of plastic nails that will grip to the wood very nicely in pre-drilled holes. The table top does not feel cheap, it feels very solid and sturdy (as for what it is made of however I cannot say) and the frame is full metal; definitely a plus. As for using the desk. I keep my computer tower and 2 monitors on top of my desk (plus smaller peripherals) and I have seen no bowing or flexing of the table; the table top itself and frame are very sturdy. With everything I have on my desk I still have ample space for whatever else I may need to put on it, this desk is not small so if you want big it's definitely a good buy. Chairs can easily fit under it and the minimalist 2 leg design allows for a lot of leg and storage room under the desk. I have also found use for the cable management netting that runs along the bottom of the table, keeping wires from my computer neat and out of the way as it's intended to do. The L shape for the desk adds a very nice aesthetic to the piece as a whole but also allows the desk to fit in corners very nicely and allows me to rest my arm somewhere while using my mouse. However like I said above this desk does have it's flaws, as nice as it is. Here are some cons I've experienced: - The plastic connectors that hold the desk to the frame are meant to grip the wood from pre-drilled holes. If you hammer these in and want to take them out later (disassembly for moving or returns?) it rips up the holes a little and may effect it's grip the next time its hammered in - Related to the con above, the only way to detach the 2 legs from the desk is to take the whole table top off. I ran into this problem because I made the mistake of assembling it in a different room than where I wanted it, and it couldn't fit through the door. But avoid doing that and you'll be fine - It is very difficult to adjust the height of the desk (assuming you don't have the electronic standing-desk version) while it is upright; and nearly impossible when there is stuff on the desk. You have to flip it upside down and adjust it that way for the easiest results. Just make sure you have the height set perfectly where you want it and make sure IT'S LEVEL before you put things on top, and you'll be fine - Lastly while the 2 leg design does allow for a nice look and good leg room, it also takes SLIGHTLY away from the sturdiness of the desk. Without a leg supporting each corner, the desk tends to wobble an inch left or right and a tiny bit front to back if provoked. I got rid of this issue by making sure the desk was flush up against the two walls in the corner it's in; do the same and you'll be fine as well. However if you want it standing in the middle of a room, you may experience some wobbling. Especially with weight on the desk. Overall the cons I mentioned are not enough for me to dislike this desk. I love it and plan to use it for years to come. It is well worth the money I spent on it and would recommend anyone who's interested in buying it to make the purchase!4

Ideas that work for the office

Today, there are as many ways of working as there are job titles. Some of us share a desk with colleagues, and some use the local coffee shop or the kitchen table at home as headquarters. No matter where or how you work, or what time of day (or night) you do it, it helps to have a flexible workspace. With furniture that adapts to your needs and not the other way around.  Read More

To work standing up

Good ideas thrive where the unusual is business as usual. So surprise your body with movement now and then – even if you’re super-concentrated on something for a long time. When you shift position, your blood circulation increases. It makes it easier to relax your back, neck and shoulders. With a height-adjustable desk, it’s easy to vary your work position. It can do wonders for your creativity and focus, and even be a good substitute for that extra cup of coffee.

Make 1+1 become 3

Sometimes we need to work on our own – sometimes we want to work together. Or just socialize. When we collaborate, we can share ideas, become inspired and create an environment where both businesses and people can flourish. To meet our changing needs, we need furniture that are as adaptable as we are. That makes it possible to create the workday we need and want.

Storage that takes you places

Storage with casters is easy to get out of the way when you want to turn the workplace into something else. Perhaps shift focus from one task to another, make room for cleaning or less serious stuff? Office supplies fit perfectly in storage with casters. It makes them easy to bring to the desk, the sofa – or wherever it is you prefer to work.

Two for one

Even if you have all your meetings online or out of the office, it can be a good idea to have an extra seat for colleagues or family members that want to stop by. When you’re on your own, you can use it for relaxation after a session by the screen – perhaps by doing a different type of work-task for a while. If you have little space, there are storage units approved to be used as seating as well.

Storage for people on the go

Storage units developed for standing work are handy if you don’t have a need or the space for a big desk. They can be used as presentation-desks, and if you add casters to them, you can easily move them around and rearrange the room in seconds.

Shared storage and shared spaces

Lack of storage seems to be a universal issue – no matter how disciplined you are or what you do for a living. Large storage units are convenient when you’re sharing storage with someone else. They can also be used as room dividers to create individual workspaces without walls or doors.

Hide or show what you’re storing

If you go for closed storage, it will always look nice and tidy no matter what is hidden inside the cabinets. With glass doors, you get an overview of what’s in the cabinets and can protect your stuff from dust. They also give an opportunity to show visitors things you are extra proud of.

To work sitting down

When you feel like working sitting down, choose a chair that adapts to you, not the other way around. Make sure it gives back support, is adjustable and can swivel – allowing for that all-important movement. You want to be able to sit upright and have your monitor at eye height, and your arms and elbows at a 90-degree angle with your hands just above your keyboard. If you need extra support for your lower back, choose a chair that has lumbar support.

Armrests

A chair without armrests provides freedom for natural movement, but a chair with armrests will support the upper part of your forearms, thereby reducing stress on shoulders and back. Make sure the armrests don’t prevent you from drawing the chair close to the desk.

Chairs with casters

If you want a chair that can roll around and is easy to move, make sure it has safety casters. The safety casters make the chair stay in place when you get up from it.

Active seating

Do yourself a favor, change position now and then instead of sitting or standing all day. A sit/stand support doesn’t have any back-support or armrests. It allows for a flexible work position at both desks and high tables. You get a more open posture – good for your circulation and core muscles, and awesome for both body and mind.

Managing the essentials

Cables. We need them, but we don’t want to see them. They’re easy to trip on, and it can be hard to know which one goes where. A cable management solution helps you to organize and hide the cables. It also makes your workstation look less cluttered and cleaning a whole lot easier. There are a several different cable management systems to choose from, see which one that suits you best.

Digital help that works in real life

There are a number of technological aids that can make your working life easier. With NFC (Near Field Communication) you can lock away your things with a card key instead of a regular key. There are also apps that you can use to control some desks. The apps can remind you to move around now and then, so you get a healthier workday. Or automatically set your favorite height if you share a height-adjustable desk with someone else.

Reduce noise pollution

Your ears should feel just as comfortable at work as your back, neck and shoulders. What someone thinks is calming background sound, can be noise to someone else. With soft-closing doors and drawers you can reduce noise pollution. You can also use fabrics, cushions and rugs to dampen sounds, soften echoes and give the office a homier feeling.

Feel at home at work

Apart from having flexible furniture, there are other things you can do to make magic happen at work. Decorate with plants that improve the air quality. Let daylight in – without causing glare. Make sure there’s access to hot drinks and cold water. But above all, challenge truths, try new things and ask for help if you need it. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable at work.

Designer thoughts

"When we designed the BEKANT series our goal was to make flexible desk combinations that encourage collaborations, meetings and creativity. The desks come in different sizes and shapes – you can use one alone or combine them to suit your needs. And they’re easy to add onto, or change, any time your needs do. To encourage a healthy work environment, most underframes have a sit and stand function that allows you to vary positions. Also, this series has been tested and approved for professional use, so it’s perfect in all types of offices."
