We want to have a positive impact on the planet. That is why by 2030, we want all materials in our products to be recycled or renewable, and sourced in responsible ways.

By using fiberboard with a particle board frame and honeycomb paper as filling material in this product, we use less wood per product. That way, we take better care of resources.

By using particle board with a slice of wood as top layer instead of only solid wood in this product, we use less wood per product. That way, we take better care of resources.

New computer tabledianeWe upgraded old computer desk with this piece. It looks modern and classy. Functions well for our purpose.5
Great deskKelsiLove this desk. Good size and easy to assemble. Definitely recommend!5
A solid work surface with lots of spaceMichealWe have been very please with the purchase. The build is on one of the more difficult sides of IKEA products simply because of the weight involved. It's otherwise not difficult to assemble as long as you have the space to flip the table over, etc, while assembling. The table itself has many height adjustments and has become an ideal desk surface.5
Nice looking DeskMaryPlenty of room and sturdy construction5
Versatile, sturdy & attractiveValerieMy college son built this easily without assistance and he loves it!5
Simple & Good Study/Gaming TableFaisalMy 12 year old selected this from the vast choices available as a good and simple option for a study/gaming table. He chose the black/dark gray combination (L=63"x W=31 1/2"). It is large enough to fit a 27" monitor for study/gaming and still allows enough space for spreading a text book/note book for writing. The assembly was easy. I let him complete the entire assembly himself and then double checked the assembly and tightened the hex screws. The table is typical particle board but the legs are very sturdy. A rail for cable management is also provided. Overall, a good product commensurate to the cost and utility.5
Fantastic desk, no complaints!RyanThis desk was very easy to put together if you have two people to flip the desktop over to attach to the frame and mildly difficult if you have short arms. I’ve loved the sturdiness from the frame and the desktop is heavy as well .5
Ida den deskCINDYBought this for my home office. It’s a sturdy desk and has plenty of room for my computer, printer, sorter, plus room to spread out. I like the lighter off white base.5
Great deskJESUSAwesome space for every day work from home5
Worth every penny!CatnannyWorth waiting for. This desk is so practical and beautiful. It was easy to put together. I did it all by myself. It is heavy so some might want some help. It looks great. It would make a nice dining table too. I am very pleased with this purchase.5
Excellent purchaseChassy516Super easy to put together, I did it by myself, no issue, although the instructions do ask for you to have someone helping you. So don't put yourself at risk. We will purchase another desk in the future. Hopefully this desk (Sit and stand version) will be less expensive in the future. The design is great, the cord storage works amazing. I was able to use adhesive to stick my power strips underneath the desk.5
Home office deskIm1964Bought this to make it easier to work from home. Love the height adjustment5
Sturdy, simple, exactly what I neededBurritoExactly what I expected. I like that this desk is a lot thicker than the other Ikea desks, I think that's due to it being in Ikea's business line. This desk has a metal support that runs the width of the desk and is attached to the legs, so the whole desk is very sturdy and doesn't wobble side to side, even if you push hard into it, which is another improvement from other Ikea desks. The cable management mesh is it's going to solve all your cable problems probably, but it doesn't take anything away either. This desk is definitely worth the price to me.5
Attraction Computer Deskbillygoat7We purchased this computer desk in September 2019 and we're very satisfied. The desk was easy to assemble, arrived in 1 week and was exactly as pictured and described. I especially like that the height of the table is adjustable. There is also an elasticized cloth netting that attaches to the underside of the table to elevate and organize the electrical cords. I highly recommend this product.5
Best Desk ever! So much space!Sean EslaShipping was great for this desk! First of all, the room of the desk. There is so much space that I have on this desk that I can evenly space out all of my peripherals without having to clunk everything up! Second, this desk is super easy to set up; this desk only took me 1 hour to set up as an amateur! Third, the build quality is the best I have seen from an Ikea desk... For the price, it really has everything i was expecting, and I am excited for how this thing will hold up for the future!5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light and resource-efficient, yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
