And while many of those mustard-hued pants and flowing paisley blouses were indeed polyester, this incredibly versatile and affordable fabric can be found all throughout our homes and lives, and is an incredibly popular material in the bedding space. 

Just like other fill materials like down, the height—or loft—of a microfiber or polyester fiber pillow is determined by how much fill is used. With polyester being such a low density material, even our fluffiest polyester pillows are still incredibly lightweight compared to similarly lofty natural fill pillows.

A polyester or microfiber pillow is a hypoallergenic option that can help in minimizing allergy symptoms, with the added benefit of being easily machine washable so you can keep it clean and fresh without hassle. 

In addition to polyester being a less hospitable environment for dust mites to thrive than natural materials like cotton or down it’s also less absorbent, meaning that when you do wash it you won’t spend all day trying to get it to fully dry.
