So long, sleep mask

Make it sleepy time, any time with ROSENMANDEL, blackout curtains that block all light from shining through and make your room completely dark. Stylish on their own, but also beautiful to pair with sheer curtains and other textiles. So, block out the light, bring on the sweet dreams.

A person’s hand is sticking out from behind pulled ROSENMANDEL blackout curtains, about to drop a sleep mask on the floor.

Two layers to give you control

With different layers in your window, you can really take control of the natural light. If you want to keep it dark to sleep undisturbed, KORGMOTT block-out curtains or a FRIDANS block-out blind are great choices. Adding thinner MÄSTERROT or GINSTMOTT curtains lets you dim the daylight and boost your privacy.

Window curtains and drapes for every room and style

Curtains have a major impact on the look, feel and functionality of your home. Our extensive range of window curtains and drapes includes designs to suit all living rooms, bedrooms, personal style preferences and specific wants and needs.

Bedroom curtains

Some mornings call for sunshine. Others call for one more hour under the covers. The right bedroom curtains can help you decide how much light greets the day.

Match your bedroom curtains to the way you sleep and how sensitive you are to light:

For an extra cozy touch, velvet drapes add warmth and insulation against drafts while bringing rich texture to your bedroom.

Living room curtains

Morning coffee, afternoon video calls, movie marathons. However you use the space, your living room curtains should be ready for it all.

Sheer curtains soften direct sunlight while keeping the room bright and open. If your windows face the street, thicker drapes or room darkening curtains create privacy when you’d rather keep the outside world out.

Living room curtains can be layered to welcome the morning sun or cut screen glare during the day. That way your windows can shine without stealing the show.

How to choose curtains

When it comes to choosing curtains for your home, the most important considerations are the impact they'll have on a room's aesthetics and functionality. Find a look you’ll love—that lets the right amount of light in—in our collection of sheer curtains, light filtering curtains, panel curtains, room darkening curtains and blackout curtains.

Some considerations to keep in mind as you browse the variety of drape and curtain options include:

How to hang curtains and drapes

To make the most of your drapes or curtains, proper installation and maintenance are key. Follow these simple steps for a polished look:

  1. Measure before you shop.

Start by measuring the width of your window and the distance from the top of the frame to the floor. For fuller-looking drapes, choose panels with a combined width that’s about 2 to 2 ½ times the width of your window.

  1. Hang the rod high and wide.

If space allows, install your curtain rods and rails around 4–10” above your window frame and extend it 6–12” beyond each side. This helps make windows look larger and allows more light into the room when the curtains are open.

  1. Secure the brackets.

Mark your placements, drill pilot holes and use wall anchors when mounting into drywall or hanging heavier fabrics.

  1. Finish with the final touches.

Hang your window curtains, straighten the folds and let the panels lightly graze the floor for a clean, tailored look.

All that’s left to do is stand back and admire the view (inside and out).
