How do I scan a room at IKEA Kreativ?

Transforming your current space into your ideal home is simple with IKEA Kreativ. Scan the space using our mobile app, then draw and perfect your vision on your phone using the app or on your computer via the IKEA website.

1. Capture Your Space:

  • Download the App: Get the IKEA app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
  • Open the App: Launch the app and go to your profile by tapping on the person's icon in the upper left corner.
  • Go to Settings: Tap on "Settings", scroll down until you find "IKEA Kreativ" and select.
  • Activate the Scan Function: Tap the camera icon in the top right corner to access the feature.
  • Choose a Division: Select the type of room you want to scan. You can scan kitchens or bathrooms, but we recommend using the dedicated planners for best results. For tips on how to scan other types of splits, check out our article here [link to "How to scan other types of splits"].
  • Select an Option (conditional):
    • Devices with LiDAR:
      • Wide-angle photo scanning: Capture a photo of the room and erase the unwanted items.
      • Complete Division Digitalization: Create a digital twin of your room, starting with an empty space.
    • Non-LiDAR devices: By default, Wide-Angle Photo Scanning will be used.
  • Start Scanning: The app will guide you through the process, automatically choosing the best method for your device (5 Panoramic Points, Ultra Wide Angle or 1-Scan LiDAR).
  • Note: If you notice slowdowns, crashes, or issues capturing the room, close other apps and try again.
 

2. Design Your Space:

Once you've captured the room, you can draw it directly on your mobile device or on the IKEA Kreativ website. Sign in with the same credentials that you used in the capture.
  • Want to remove current items? Use our Eraser tool. Access varies by device:
    • Web Browser: Use the button at the top to switch to "Delete Items". Click an item with a yellow outline to remove it. To remove everything, click "Hide All." You can always undo by clicking "Show All".
    • Mobile App: Look for "Delete" in the right sidebar. You can choose Hide All or Show All, or select individual items with a yellow outline to remove. Tap the check mark when you're satisfied.

3. Save, Share and Reinvent:

Once you've created your custom space, save your designs and share them with others.
  • Reinventing rooms It's a feature exclusive to the web version, allowing you to send your designs to others to edit. In the app, you can just share your designs.
