How can I improve my digitalisation at IKEA Kreativ?
Following these quick tips will help you get the best possible scan of your room.
- Place yourself at the back of the room, with your back to a corner or wall, facing the area you want to project.
- Take the photo horizontally and make sure the floor is included. This broader perspective improves the quality of scanning.
- Make sure the room is well lit. Open the blinds and turn on the lights if necessary.
- Rooms with a lot of light produce much higher quality images.
- Point the camera at the center of the area you want to project.
- If you are using the 5-Point Panoramic method, follow the instructions in the app to rotate the phone to the 5 targets (wait for the check before moving on to the next target). Hold your phone with both hands, move only your hands and forearms, and keep your elbows close to your body. Avoid shaking it from side to side and avoid turning or twisting your whole body.
- Review the screenshot preview displayed on the screen.
- Make sure it covers the entire area you want to design and is clear and sharp enough.
- If both conditions are met, tap "Yes" to continue.
- After taking the wide-angle photo, the app asks you to align the image you see on the left side of the screen with the one on the right.
- It doesn't have to be perfect; align the images approximately, then tap "Done."
- Stand in the same place and move your phone in a slow, sweeping motion in a figure-8 shape, starting in the center of the area you want to project.
- Make sure the camera captures the floor, walls, and ceiling of the room, covering a wide area in front of you.
(on devices with LiDAR capabilities, this step can be completed automatically)
- When the app prompts you, swipe left or right and tap "Done."
- You'll see a split screen that guides you to align images 1 and 2; when you're ready, tap "Done."
- Do a figure-8 movement again.
You can access your projects in the mobile app at: Profile > Settings > IKEA Kreativ > Your digitised spaces.
Alternatively, you can find them on our website, on your personal area.
