The 3 fixed shelves are positioned to fit most common book sizes. The sides function as built-in bookends.
A gap between the shelf and the wall makes it easy to route cables, for example, if you want to place a lamp or charge your phone on the shelf.
The loop-shaped bottom of the side units can be used to hang things like headphones and jewellery.
